Chapelli’s Spaghetti Bar

Went with the wife for a late night meal and was pleasantly surprised. Food was great, service friendly and they were FAST! Definitely a good choice for a light night food fix!

Useful for a late night meal or just some yummy cake or three. Recommend lemon tart and marks cake for a sugar hit which will satisfy any of your sugar cravings!

This is a coffee only review but I must say it is a great venue overall! Open 364.5 days per year I’ve been going there for 30 years! As an early riser the ²⁴⁄₇ hours are great coffee extra large available with honey is bliss! A magical coffee at 4am and a great safe environment! They also add honey if you ask mmmmm

Have been here twice and both times the food was awful and over priced. The burgers are greasy and tasteless and their chicken schnitzel Turkish bread had so much mayonnaise in and around it I couldn’t taste anything else.

I am the type to buy from who I like and boy, do I like the staff here!
Living just a few minutes away from this always open restaurant ensures that I am regularly here.
Regardless of wether you’re looking for a feed after a night out on chapel street or you want a nice lunch with friends or a coffee and cake, Chappellis always does the job.
It isn’t the best food I have ever had but it surely is not the worst!
The coffee is great and the cakes are divine!
Most of all the staff are absolute sweeties! What brings me back everytime is the smile on their faces and the fact they will always make me feel like I am their best customer! If you’re all about good customer service then you will adore this place just like I do!
I plan on staying a regular here as long as I live in Melbourne!

My expectations weren’t high to begin with walking into Chapelli’s Spaghetti Bar, so they had the opportunity to really sweep my tongue off its tastebuds.
The menu has good coverage to cover whatever you’re into, so with that in mind I took a risk and went for the 350gram porterhouse steak with mushroom sauce. The serving size is generous (some meals are not like the tandoori chicken), especially the chips (had to order that separately), but the quality didn’t reflect the price.
I did enjoy my meal, I mean, it’s not that bad, but I couldn’t help but think it was just ordinary compared to the plethora of steaks I have had the pleasure of consuming over x amount of years within this price range. Nothing stood out and the experience was on par with what I expected.
It’s clean inside and the staff are attentive. So that’s a plus.
I looked at their website after, knowing that it would be terrible, and it’s no surprise there’s not much of it when I did look at it. I usually judge a place by looking at their website. If they take pride in that, you have some reasonable expectations that it should be pretty good. This subconscious measuring stick still delivers in spades! Tip for establishments, fix your online presence!
The 2 star Unilocal rating is spot on, I have experienced much better.

There aren’t many options late on a Wednesday night, so my hungry friends and I settled for this place, which stays open ²⁴⁄₇. While the atmosphere was lively and cosy even at that hour, I was completely unimpressed by the quality of the food. I think my vegetable pasta cost me around $ 17, and after some spoonfuls, I had no desire to even finish it. The sauce tasted no better than the tacky canned sauces you can buy at any supermarket, and was too watery — yuck. The vegetables were very crudely cut and prepared. It was also too greasy. A total waste of money, won’t be going back.

Chapel Street Restaurant open 24 hours 7 days a week, serving a delicious selection of simple, no fuss meals; need I say more?
Chapelli’s is great if your after a traditional Italian meal at an affordable price as well as very generous servings to match. The service however can somehow be jeopardized, as the venue is open 24 hours, late in the night to early on weekend mornings can sometimes see the seedier of clientele wandering in for a feed after a heavy night out drinking. That’s not to say that at other times during the day Chapelli’s can be very efficient and welcoming, it’s just a bit of luck as to what sort of quality you will receive.
