We went here for Valentine’s Day last year. The food was lovely, hard to judge though as it was a set menu. The restaurant it’s has a lot going on! There is a huge tree thing in the middle. The staff were really nice and caring. It was a great night, we definitely have been meaning to go back and try their regular menu!

If you can tolerate the strange lighting if you dine in you blown away by the tasty dishes on offer. This is our go to takeaway in the area. The dishes are fresh and flavorful. We tend to opt for a few entrees and one main with rice for three or four people and the entrees are always delicious. The stuffed chicken wings are delish! Note that even when the place doesn’t look busy you might be in for a little bit of a wait, sometimes about half an hour for takeaway which just reminds you that your dinner is being cooked to order and made with passion.

Grabbed a takeaway from here on the weekend. The menu has a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes, as well as some other classic Asian dishes such as Pad Thai thrown in for good measure. The staff were lovely and food was ready in just a few minutes. The food was tasty and I guess if you had to compare it to something it has a somewhat Lido style quality. In the centre of the restaurant there’s a crazy tree made of lights that sends a purple glow throughout the room. Now this is going to sound weird, but here goes: Like the purple light wasn’t giving the place enough of a spooky and outer space vibe I walked over to the fish tank and the giant fish with Angelina Jolie sizes lips started mouthing the word ‘no’ to me in a silent scream, over and over. It was crazy. My friend even took her boyfriend back the next day to see if the purple light had somehow melted our brains and the fish wasn’t actually doing that. He still was. Weird.

I have only recently become a convert to Vietnamese cuisine, so although I’d driven past this place plenty of times, it was only last week that I finally ventured inside to check it out. The food is great value for money; I had the Pork Claypot for $ 13.50, which was delicious and full of very strong, delicious flavour. Not that I’m a cheapskate, but that happens to be the cheapest thing on the mains menu — most of the rest of the menu hovers around the $ 28 mark, but it’s completely worth it. My wife’s sizzling lamb looked delicious. We brought our own liquor only to discover that they have a fairly decent wine list on site, but they also do BYO so it worked out fine — that said, corkage is $ 7.50, which seems a bit steep. There is cheaper Vietnamese around, but this is great food on the scale of any cuisine and worth the money.

Delicious! Is there anything better than a last minute decision to eat out, that also satisfies that inkling craving for something yummo? Nestled in a quiet pocket in South Perth, Vu’s satisfied my constant craving for, wait for it, ginger. Yes, instead of craving chocolate or something more normal, I am obsessed with ginger. So I ordered ginger fish and rice. It was amazing. Quick service, friendly staff, and most importantly, a delicious meal. I will def make time to trek south again very soon.
