You live and learn is what we said as we left this place today. I gave it two stars because the waitresses were nice people.

Unfortunately I cant write a review on the food because we never recieved our meals. I dont mind if the kitchen gets my order wrong… but after waiting an hour for our replacement meals and watching all other tables get their meals even tho we had been there waaaaay before them we finally stood up and said sorry we aren’t waiting any longer. They offered free coffee and tortilla chips but its just not right to bump our order to the back of the cue when you guys stuffed it up! Ive been wanting to try this place for ages as I drive passed it all the time. The mexican coffee can have one star and its a trendy place you can bring your dog for a kangaroo ommlette… when even the dogs are getting fed before you, its enough to make ur hangry eyes turn red!!!

I went there with a scoopon voucher for all-you-can-eat taco deal, because I read a few good reviews about this place. Reservation was very easy and quick(I did online reservation), so it’s nothing to complain about; but actually when we got there during lunch time on weekend, only half of the tables were occupied so reservations might not be needed at all. We started ordering our taco right away, since there’s a 90-minute time limit for AYCE. Food came quick, but sadly it was waaay below our expectation. We couldn’t feel the taste, it feels very bland that we keep putting on tabasco to make it more presentable to our palate. Of all the 4 taco variants, the only one that was good enough was the chilli con carne; but even that is stretching our standard(and we don’t have a high standard, believe me!). In the end, we spent only about an hour in there, with me not ordering any second helpings and just drinking while waiting for the sun to be not so hot. Even with the scoopon deal, I felt like I haven’t got my money worth! I hope this was only a one-off, and SBT will improve, as the location is very good, so close to the beach.

Note that this place has updated it’s name to South Beach Tacos. I went here tonight for All You Can Eat Tacos on Tuesdays for $ 19 and was sorely disappointed. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that I’m from California where the state cuisine is practically Mexican food, hence the scathing review, but this is certainly not at all to par. I didn’t even care to try and make my money’s worth by eating more tacos, it just wasn’t worth the calories to me. From the All You Can Eat menu they offered chicken tacos, vegetarian tacos and chili con carne, so we tried them all. All of them came out with shredded cheese, which anyone who knows authentic Mexican food knows this is a no-no. The vegetarian taco was potatoes and peas… for a vegetarian taco I was expecting a combo like rice and beans; potatoes and peas aren’t a combo that belong in a taco. Chili con carne is a stew invented in Texas and does not belong in a taco. The chicken taco was almost tasteless, I had to douse the thing in Tapatio sauce. Even on the regular menu, the tacos are extremely overpriced as 2 tacos range from $ 14 – 18. That’s $ 7 – 9EACHTACO, which for how they taste is just pure madness. The fish taco is beer battered, so basically fish and chips in a tortilla? What? On the upside, the restaurant is BYOB so at least the beers we brought were good. Save yourself the trouble and go find a real Mexican food restaurant(though in Perth I’m not sure where that is!)

Relatively new place with authentic Mexican food. Do not expect TexMex, guacamole is freshly made at your table, the beef quesadilla was excellent, and the shredded pork taco’s brought us back to Mexico. Excellent quality, friendly fast and efficient service. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Note: BYO only, bring your own tequila, and they will provide the rest for the margarita to make the meal perfect!
