If you go here expecting the best food, the most cozy atmosphere, or mesmerising jazz music, you may walk away disappointed and give this place two stars. If, instead, you head here fully aware of its tourist-central location and you’re more into your company than into the food or music, this place is totally fine. Certainly not amazing, but the staff is friendly and the location is great. So, go here to start or cap an evening, do some people watching, and you’ll probably enjoy the visit. [edit: if you like your pizzas cheesy, go here. Our margarita was a cheese bomb, in a good way!]

Nice venue, off the planet prices and really slack service.(Stood at the bar over 5 minutes to place my order. Unbelievable when there was only one other customer.) I guess it must be about the music which wasn’t playing while we were there. Only stayed for a couple of drinks and went elsewhere for dinner.

I love jazz, so I go to DM for music and drinks, not for food, honestly. Coffees are nice. Once I had deep-fried calamari with salad and it was yum(the photo is posted). The prices of food are expensive for international students. Sorry to say this but from my working experience as a waitress, the staff at DM need to be more trained and motivated to serve customers.

I was really disappointed with DM Jazz Bar and Restaurant. It looks so classy and I expected to have great food. It was not to be, however, and while we had good service and friendly waitresses, I wasn’t very impressed with my oily substandard risotto. My partners food was pretty good but its hard to mess up chicken parmigiana and chips, though the salad was better than average. There was a live jazz band playing while we were there and while the music was good it was a bit loud for dinner and we had to almost shout to hear each other. The prices weren’t too bad, both meals under $ 20, but I won’t be going back.

DM, I am pretty disappointed in you you have such a great location, an intriguing name, lively music But maybe I expected too much. You turned out to be another typically overpriced south bank restaurant. The meals range from $ 25 – 40 and are as bland as bland could be. (Don’t try the crepes. they were so rubbery they squeaked!) The service is also pretty appalling (DM, you should really tell your waitress the average waiting time for 2 glasses of tap water is usually 2 – 3 min and not a HALFHOUR.) …All in all so sad am I with this experience, writing this review is just invoking more painful memories from the night. I’ll make a quick mention however of the one redeeming factor, the gravelly tones of Mr Wiley Reed. His toe-tappin’ numbers of Ray Charles to Sam Cooke put a smile on my dial, This old man from florida surely did bust out some great songs in the key of soul and blues. (…But I’d be singing the blues too If I had to come back here.)
