Shorncliffe is such a beautiful place. I’m happy me and my friend spent our day there today. It was actually a Unilocal-member who recommended the place for me. We planned to go to Gold Coast but since the day got shorter we didn’t want to travel too far away. We took the Shorncliffe train that didn’t take so long and the beach wasn’t that far away from the station, maximum 15 minutes. When we got to the beach we were pretty impressed hehe the place was peaceful and relaxed, people just chilling with no worries in life hehe… :) Shorncliffe is a good place for fishing and a nice place for strolling at the beach. We had a really nice walk and will definitely spend more days there for future baths + surfing hopefully ^^, If you want to visit a place with a chill vibe go to Shorncliffe: D

Cycle along the cycleways, jog along the path or have a picnic under the gazebo or lay out a rug on the grass. It’s a great place to take the family and enjoy the scenery Shorncliffe has to offer. There is plenty of green grass for picnics on the grass, alternatively, you can find big picnic tables available under cover. Each table has a view of the ocean, so the setting is magnificent every time. The Shorncliffe Pier is frequented by a few people casually trying to catch fish and tourists checking out the water. On some days, you might even find a couple getting their wedding/engagement photography done. With its picturesque setting its no wonder its considered such a romantic spot.

I was forced to go out to Sandgate exceedingly early in the morning with an eager friend to go for a walk along the water(why we had to drive to Sandgate was beyond me). As we arrived and I stepped out of the car grumbling I was greeted by a surprisingly beautiful view. All this time I’ve been living in Brisbane, and I’ve been out to Sandgate for various reasons more than once, and I never knew this was here. The cycleway/footpath to be graced with our presence ran along the bay; it was incredibly picturesque. It’s a very popular place with people of all ages cycling, walking, skateboarding and jogging along the path. There are picnic tables the entire way along and towards either end are small parks with sheltered tables and amenities. It’s not especially long, approximately 2 km, so if you’re in training for a marathon it’s probably not ideal. Although it’s really pretty, so maybe you could just do several laps.
