A cute little place in an average little shopping centre. More of a takeaway place but you can eat in(no alcohol and no byo). Genuine husband and wife with a steet food feel. The food is great, I wish I had them as my local takeaway!

Sweet staff here at this cute little neighbourhood joint. Food was fast and very reasonably priced. I ate laksa that really was fine but I would have liked a bit more spice and a few more veggies as it was low on bean sprouts and the pieces of chicken were huge so it felt a bit noodle heavy. Portion size was generous though. Not licensed but there is a bottleshop next door and you can BYO. Looking forward to trying more on the menu.

Jiving Monkey Café is a Vietnamese fusion café /take away restaurant, tucked into a little group of shops in St Peters. The shops have their own car park, making it easy to stop right out front. You can’t miss it, vibrant signage and decorative birdcages as well as indoor outdoor seating reassure you that you are in the right place. Take a seat, the menu’s are on the tables, and when ready, you order up at the counter(cash only). The menu spans South East Asia, including Thai and Vietnamese. There are several vegetarian options both in the entrée’s and mains. The inside is neat and decked out in earthy tones with a splash of colour on the red ceiling. I particularly liked the stools topped with fur cushions. Tables are set simply, with faux-plants. The Pad Thai Chicken($ 12.50) was a solid example of the dish, according to my dining companion. My Vietnamese Tofu Salad($ 9.90) had a tangy dressing and numerous strips of deep fried tofu, topped with grated carrot and cucumber, corriander and crushed roasted peanuts. Underneath was a bed of mesclun lettuce, which didn’t seem to fit with the Asian theme. It almost filled me up but I’d describe it as light, healthy, and carb free. I’d saved room for the Sticky Black Rice with Coconut Pudding($ 2) as advertised up at the counter, and after my light lunch certainly had room, but upon trying to order was told that unfortunately it’s only available at night time. A cheerful and quick lunch dining option if you are after something healthy and light on the run.

I was very impressed with chef and waitress for taking time to go through the menu with me in detail to find out what was gluten free. Happily showed my all the ingredients including sauce bottles. Very obliging! We ordered a number of dishes, all very good and made fresh. Could have eaten two bowls of their dessert sticky rice if it was possible.

Jiving Monkey — is a tasty little secret hidden away in a tiny corner of Adelaide. Firstly — WHEREISJOSLIN?! Is Joslin even a place? Anyway, we found this place and it was awesome! Jiving monkey has a random assortment of South East Asian cuisines from Pad Thai to Phở’. A group of friends and I got Satay Chicken, Laksa, Phở, Pad Thai and Kway Teow — for Unilocaling reasons I HAD to try them all… Safe to say they were all DELICIOUS! Very westernised but very tasty, the Laksa in particular was fantastic and very hot! All the food came in reasonable time and everything was very reasonably priced. The only downside was that the restaurant is too small! Yes it’s cool and cosy and fun but these guys would be fantastically successful with a larger restaurant! Cant
