Bar Doppio

Bar Doppio is a local café located along Old South Head Road Rose Bay. Really not sure why they choose the name «Bar» because this place isn’t your traditional «Bar» pulling schooners and the likes for the punters. I do believe they serve alcohol with lunch and dinner but oh well a name is just a name sometimes.
The café is actually quite large with plenty of seating both inside and out. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner here and offer a range of take away options also. So indeed this is one of the best café options on this road. This is a good food spot because most of the other options are pizzerias, fast foods and such.
I have been here a couple of times and while it’s not cheap it’s prices are reasonably ok. They offer a range of takeaway specials which can be good. I decided to go for soup today because I was craving it. I had an option of three, minestrone, kale or pumpkin soup. I decided to go for kale.
The soup was $ 7.50 takeaway. This was a bit expensive considering I wasn’t given any bread with it. Complaints aside the flavour was good and it was packed with plenty of kale, celery, seeds and lentils. Less a good size portion but once again soup and bread goes together like Bert and Ernie.
Good café but room for improvement if they want to be a great café. I think there’s a lot of average places around this area so at the moment Bar Doppio is happy with just being mediocre for now.
