Grand Opening: Friday 24th of May 6pm!

Señor BBQ has relocated to «Lyrebird Lounge», a cosy music bar in 61 Glen Eira Rd, Ripponlea (a few metres from the train Station).

Expect our usual traditional Argentinean BBQ, delicious vegetarian soups and other delicacies.

Food from 6 to 9pm, bar 5pm to 1am, Thursday to Sunday.

We take bookings and offer catering and take away.

Established in 2007.

After arriving in Australia, Hernan spent years working as an artist been involved in the vibrancy of Melbourne, providing opportunities for cultural exchange between Latin America and Australasia.

One of the best ways to bring people together, is cooking and eating!

Señor BBQ Charcoal Grill is a vehicle, complemented by music, dance, comedy, films and other cultural expressions.

Slowly getting there and finding it’s feet.
The space at the moment is basic and plain, but was lived up a little
bit with some colorful grand opening decorations. Hernand is certainly
a character, and of course the owner and part time red rooster star is the
essence of this place. The menu at the moment is small yet still good,
but hopefully with time and popularity, this will increase.
Chorizo is a decent sausage, and empanada’s are great. I’d like to see
this empanada family increase, along with it’s beverage cousins. This
place should be a little more in the swing of things come the height of
summer, right now its modest beginnings.

The one downside:
You’re eating in a record store. It’s not a restaurant. When you’re trying to eat dinner and there’s a concert going on in the back of the store, which is blocking your access to the window from which your grilled meats appear, It can be frustrating.
However. GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY THAT’S GOOD MEAT.
I had a mixed grill platter which consisted of beef short ribs, chorizo, and chicken wings piled on top a mess of salad.
I didn’t take a single bite that wasn’t life affirming.
