Great local pub. Great beer selection. Comfortable, cosy, friendly staff. No dogs when I was there.

Known as «The People’s Pub», the Glengarry is a delightful, rough-around-the-edges sort of pub at the border of Redfern, Chippendale & Darlington. It’s dog friendly, inside and out, and there is much canine socialising under the tables. There’s a jukebox and the take-away wine is super cheap. There’s a small outdoor area at the back — just a concrete floor and some broken stools. This mightn’t look appealing at first, but it has hosted many an entertaining night of beer jugs & banter. Inside the pub there’s a gigantic wooden table — probably the best table in Redfern. This pub hosts everyone from hipsters to geriatrics, and it’s a real hub for locals. It IS the kind of place where everyone looks at you when you enter, but don’t worry, it’s merely curiosity. It’s a bit blokey and a bit alco, but the presence of dogs is really nice, they seem to chill the place out a bit.
