Sunday lunch, I had the blackboard special 200 gram steak. Excellent service great atmosphere a great pity it was let down by a poor quality steak served cold. Clearly pre-cooked, next time I will go elsewhere.

Well I’d been past this pub plenty of times, but had never been in. Went for lunch today, and I was pleasantly surprised. You can sit outside and catch the sea breeze, or there’s tables inside. Still quite nice with the windows open and fans on. I’d probably sit outside if I went again, it was a little noisy inside, and the seating area used to be a dance floor, every time someone walks past the table and chair bounces up and down. Meal prices are very reasonable, and you can get their lunch specials for under $ 10. Very impressed with the size of these meals too, much larger than the lunch specials I’ve had in other places, and delicious too. Staff were all quite friendly, and there was a nice atmosphere. There’s a nice bar area looking out towards the sea, and the usual den of polkies out the back, but I didn’t have a look there, and I believe there’s also a beer garden that may be worth a look. I think this is somewhere I need to come back to.

This is a regular spot of ours when my wife and I go out to visit the family at Redcliffe. The Ambassador of Redcliffe really does stick to its title as a great place for a quality pub meal and drinking establishment. Every time we’re out there, the menu is typically filled with an assortment of pizza, pasta, fish and steak dinners. For me in particular I enjoy having one of their grain fed porterhouse steaks with a serving of fresh vegetables on the side. The meat is always cooked to my liking and the greens are crisp and hot and never overdone. Around the table, the family usually starts with an assortment of herb and garlic breads that are full of flavour. These are followed with the favourites of steaks, schnitzels, chicken carbonara and bolognese. Between meals we order drinks from the bar and have a poke on the machines. The Ambassador of Redcliffe is a place that’s definitely family friendly and somewhere to take visiting relatives.
