We tried this place for dinner on a fresh Autumn night ;based on Unilocal’s high scores). The Restaurant was very busy and the open kitchen concept added more noise. The food was Okay(not exceptional, my wife found her mild Tom Yum noodle soup very spicy) but a turnoff for us was that the indoor seating area has a rather poor ventilation(super smoky is an understatement — when doors are closed). Luckily they accommodated us and gave us an outdoor table. We enjoyed our meals and we ended up having a great time. Probably I would try other places before coming back here.

This cosy little place is our all time favourite Thai restaurant in Sydney! Every dish is is seriously delicious, packed with tantilising flavour. The portion sizes are generous and the meals are surprisingly affordable. It is not well sign posted(just a painting of a spatch cock on the exterior wall with a spot light shining on it), but I kinda like the fact that it is harder to find. Enough people seem to be stumbling across it though because it is always packed(a great sign!) They also make the best Beef Panang ever — I order this dish at every new Thai restaurant we try as a ranking device(kinda like banana smoothies at cafes). They deliver for orders over $ 20, the perfect dinner solution for a quiet night in, and they serve beer in house, but wine is BYO. We go there so regularly the friendly staff wave at us when we’re just walking down the street, even if we’re not intending to go in. Couldn’t recommend Spatch Cock more highly! Totally worth a visit.

On every corner in Sydney there happens to be a Thai joint, so the competition is fierce. ‘Lover’ and I have decided to try them all! Well, our local take-aways anyway. It can be a risk taking exercise to deviate from what is tried and true, but the last time we did it proved to be worth the risk. ‘Spatchcock’ is the name for a small chicken, but there is nothing minute about this Thai restaurant. They have a brilliant tofu dish which is lightly fried and silken on the inside. The Calamari was so fresh and non greasy and the green curry we got had a perfect amount of chilli that was creamy and not heavy ll at the same time. I am always so impressed when you get take-away and it remains fresh as it is easy to sit in the car and get soggy. Now I know I said we were trying all our Thai options in the area, however I think I may have to give ‘Spatchcock’ another few trials, just to make sure it really is as good as the first time.
