My home away from home — the UQ Main Refectory now known as ‘Main Course’ which is fitting in a way because many students get their sustanance here in many shapes and sizes. Chips and gravy being the dominant and cheap kind. Hence, very popular amongst the student and staff population in general. Also here you will find(you lucky students you, they never had this back in MY day!) the global kitchen, Tackle Box Tackle Box, Gravy Train, Dolce and Banana, U-Sushi(dumplings yum and rice paper rolls delicious to the max), Drunken Noodle(sushi and noodles and rice), Souvlaki Hut, and the ever popular and misleadingly healthy Subway. The tables are like a soup kitchen, in long rows, very classy looking for a university because let’s face it, most of these students are likely to dirty the place up anyway, the lighting classy(kind of like halogen strobey lights) and the staff, super fast, super friendly and super eager to serve you super quick. The 3 supers, just what a main refectory needs. How can you not be a big fan of this place, with the food on a budget and the options and the more options and the yummy in your Unilocaling tummy? I love it here, it’s a staple of university life, it’s the hub of a students existence and now that i’m working there, it’s my little indulgence and a walk back to my uni days.
