I always stop by Gregory’s bakery after picking up crab at the Sydney Fish Markets. You see, it’s chilli crab night at my place and I need some fresh bread to dip up the wonderful sauces. The selection here is just as it would be at any other bakery and I usually get a couple of the sourdough sticks. I wouldn’t make an effort to come here for my daily bread needs but if I’m already at the Sydney Fish Markets it is definitely the place I go.

Situated next to the Blackwattle Deli in Sydney’s Fish Market, this bakery is a fantastic place to pick up a fresh loaf to accompany whatever delicious seafood meal you’ve picked up in here. There is a huge variety of rolls and baguettes as well as a few sweet pastries to boot! I had to try their ricotta tart as it sounded so exciting, although I found it a little too large for an after-lunch snack it was creamy and sumptuous, there was even a sweet citrus topping in the centre to add that little zing. If you’re just breezing past you’ll also find that Gregory’s has done some imaginative sculpture with damper loaves! I saw a very realistic crocodile pinned to the wall!
