There is not a lot to choose from in the business end of Pymble, so Gaon is a true gem. It’s a «Japanese» Restaurant by name, but the menu heavily favours Korean favourites like Bi-​Bim-​Bap, BuGo-​Gi and Hui-​Dup-​Bab alongside their Japanese dishes.
It’s cheap, tasty and consistent. The staff are friendly and accomodating to regulars.
The lunch set menus are generous and hard to go past. The take away sushi rolls are 2 for $ 5, which has to be one of the cheapest deals in Sydney. And they’re good! Made fresh, so there’s none of those crusty stale rolls you get in display cases at food courts.
