One of the best in the area. T’s serves authentic Vietnamese Phở and Bahn Mi with a bunch of other additions to the menu to tempt you outside the norm. I’d vote T’s broth as the best in Preston and they’ve become a weekend breakfast favourite for us.

Ok I admit it. I am addicted to Chinese lunch time buffet takeaways. But then again who isn’t. All that deep fried salty sweet stuff is just irresistible. That is except to the conscience. Nothing sits more heavy on the belly or the mind. Which is why I love T’s Vietnamese. Not only does the name rhyme, but they serve up a buffet of greasy Asian food, but it’s Vietnamese instead of Chinese, and therefore they add a little sprinkle of fresh herbs and serve it up in a crispy salad leaf. My mind is set completely at ease. I eat my full of coconut curry or barbequed pork, served with fried rice with the little fresh crunch of leafy greens and I go to heaven. It may not be the freshest, fanciest or fine flavoured Vietnamese you can get — but it is pretty goddamn tasty, and super cheap at $ 8 per meal.

I’m a strong believer that some of the best restaurants are some of the least appetising looking and T’s Vietnamese Classics, within the hardly glamorous confines of the Preston Markets, is a great example. Appetite exacerbated by a raging hangover I found myself at Preston Markets doing a little food shopping ahead of a barbeque. If this mission was going to be completed, I needed feeding. And fast. Forgoing sushi owing to its not-quite-stodgy enough-ness, I settled upon T’s Vietnamese Classics, a tiny little Vietnamese café selling a range of Vietnamese rolls, curries, salads and noodle dishes for $ 8 a plate. I opted for the Vietnamese vegetarian fried rice topped with an incredible red Vietnamese chicken curry and served with crunchy fresh lettuce and a generous amount of fresh coriander. The food itself was beautiful, tasty, well made, well balanced and exactly what I wanted and despite the generous portion size I could easily have polished off another plate. This place might not look much from the outside but T’s Vietnamese Classics is an awesome little eatery whose appearance really doesn’t do it justice. If you find yourself in Preston: go there, eat lots and Unilocal about it. This place deserves some praise.
