Do you like starting fires, watching things burn slowly, then call into The Little Candle Shop, I’m just kidding, couldn’t help myself, I kept imagining that line with the creepy movie trailer voice. The Little Candle Shop in Potts Point is really cute. It smells so nice walking through the shop(maybe not so nice for people with allergies) but the aromas floating around is great. I called in with my flatmate as we were walking past, she loves candles and bought three, I was quite impressed with the home wares they stock, it is really as much a home wares shop as a candle shop and they offer a sophisticated sense of style, they have some really cool shelving concepts, most of which are also used to display their candles. It is a great little shop for decorating a space as well as for gifts and of course for starting fires also.

Take a break from the pubs, clubs, drugs, rock and roll, kebab shops, alcohol and homeless people in the cross and step inside the little candle shop. Just a little, thin but deep shop filled with many a candle things; it’s a place I think my mum would enjoy, if not so much myself. But then again, when her birthday rolls around its good to have a place like this up your sleeve. The shop was playing French music when I entered(apparently the owner is French), and there is heaps of scented candles and lanterns and other stuff there for someone feeling particularly effeminate to peruse. Personally I’m just greatful to break up the pub atmosphere for a second, even if I’m not that into candles. Maybe it makes the girls feel better when they’re in their short skirts late on a Friday night. I wonder if its open then. I think it would get a lot of sales. In short, its a great candle shop, good atmosphere and good help, but the place isn’t huge.
