What a great meal, very gracious service. Authentic as in DELICIOUS Italian. Squid ink pasta with spinner crab was perfectly al dente. Calamari fritti were light, crisp and not greasy. Cute ambiance as well. Definitely recommend.

This is a great place to eat but planning is required. They don’t take bookings but there are bars around the corner that you can have a drink at and they will call your mobile when a table is ready. That is of course after you have checked into the restaurant. Fare is true to style with Italian home style dishes like lasagna. I had a tri-tip steak that was out of this world. Great wine selection.

This place has amazing food and even more amazing service. It’s a little out of the way so not sure how often I’d come back out of laziness but I can’t hold that against them thus the four star rating. I arrived for a work breakfast about 20 minutes early and they kindly let me sit at one of the tables enjoying a coffee until my colleagues arrived. Considering it a small place and busy that was really nice of them(granted there were multiple empty tables). Obviously a good spot for a meet-up work coffee or catch up with a friend but probably a little small to host a large group. The menu looks amazing though so I would like to come back for dinner.

Fratelli Paradiso is a real part of the renaissance of Potts Point, and it has proven itself to be a sustainable, busy and popular destination for many. This review focuses on the«the bakery»… the small and less visible part of this establishment. When we visit, which is regularly, it is for the wonderful coffee and the fine service. The coffee is always so consistent, so not only is it one of the best in the neighbourhood it never waivers in quality. Now breakfast, brunch and lunch are all great experiences on this side of the business. The menu is delightfully tailored and does distinguish itself from many others locally and beyond. Whether it is the Uova Strapazzate, eggs scrambled with peas ham & corn, the Uova Camicia, poached eggs, gnocco lla romana & parmigiano, the egg white omelette listed with ‘no alterations’, the Piadina, the prosciutto, stracchino etc and so many more, or you can select from the mobile trays with the a tasty range of pastries, baguettes and many other delights. The service is exceptional and always so warm and pleasant. This place always has a good feel and a touch of Italy seems to be regularly in the air!

It’s tough to be a small upper end Italian restaurant in Sydney as there are simply so many. Yet Fratelli Paradiso manages to be one of the best. It’s not pretentious like a few places I can think of(Aria, anyone?) and the menu is simple. But the quality of the food is outstanding. Calamari — good. Tuna crudo — good(although we chuckled when the waiter asked us at least twice that it was«raw»!). Manzo — really good. This is the second time I’ve been here, and my experience was good both times. That’s a good sign as so often restaurants disappoint the second time around. Attentive service, relatively noisy and on good summer evenings the restaurant spills out on to the street. All very nice.

Great wine selection, very attentive staff. I had the John Dory and the Sangiovese. They also have gluten free pasta. Thumbs up!

We don’t understand the hype. We were seated promptly but waited for ages for service(which continued throughout our dinner) on a busy Sunday night(no busier than any good restaurant who can still provide a positive and seamlesa guest experience on the service side). The dishes were served on large plates but the quantity for what you pay was light and presentation was pretty basic. None of the flavors of the dishes stood out, and certainly didnt shout Authentic Italian! We dig Fratelli Fresh in Millers Point, but this one definitely missed the boat for us.

My husband and I spent the day walking around Surrey Hills, Paddington and Darlinghurst before stumbling upon this adorable, chic café on a quiet street in a quiet corner of Sydney. The food was fresh, authentic Italian and it doesn’t get much better than that for me. We had calamari that was the perfect amount of fried, and shared a pasta dish where you could tell they just made the noodles that morning. Exquisite! The service and atmosphere are also excellent — it was lovely to sit outside and enjoy the fresh Sydney air. Plus, the views of the Sydney skyline as you walk down the street don’t hurt either! Thumbs up all arou

Interesting write up in the Wish Magazine this weekend(September ’15). Guys, the Melbourne –leads-the-way versus Sydney thing just doesn’t wash when you’ve been doing the same thing — in Sydney — for 15 years! Just keep on doing your thing your way. Arrogant rivalry is not necessary.

Authentic as you can get it around Sydney. Italian waitstaff is sometimes really on it or when it’s busy you feel the shaft a little bit. Overall I like it as one of my go-to places for homemade pasta and a caprese salad. Yum.

Always great for a weekday casual dinner. I only eat pasta when here, it’s that good. The wait for good is always a bit long, so not an in and out place

Set in the cozy corner of a grocer, the locals watch the world(and shoppers) go by as friendly staff take orders from the famous chalk board. The food is fresh, consistent and best enjoyed at the bar if solo or in a pair whilst drinking a negroni and chatting to the bartender. I have probably ordered the ragu in the double digits. This is the low fuss option with character and atmosphere of a much loved local.

Fantastic service, cool part of town, and great food. As Howard the hamburglar said though, it just falls short of perfect on the gluttony scale. Had the kingfish crudo with pomegranate and it was brilliant but — I had a main size($ 31) and it was gone in two minutes. The waiter cautioned me that the starter size would be a bit small, turns out the main was as well. For folks who have a normal appetite there would be no problem but for me, I left hungry even though I ate all three bread rolls. My problem I suppose.

I am not big on pasta but Fratelli Paradiso is on another level. I would happily dine here again! I would even go as far as to say it was one of the best pasta experiences I have ever had. Worth a visit!

Bit on the expensive side, but so is the rent. The waiters have become friendlier, more down to Earth, and it’s good that they are the same ones. Gluten free spaghetti with raw tuna was delicious, as was the glass of wine. Frattelli Paradiso is always open, yes, you can have lunch at 4pm.

Admittedly we rocked up after closing time at 11pm and were able to be seated with a limited menu. Found the food to be mediocre in taste, lacking any quality for the price we paid with very small portions. They advertised peroni beers but we were given something else«made by the same brewery.»!?

Pasta isn’t always my thing. I’ve never grown up with so it’s not something I’ve ever really had. On the occasions I do have it, I feel it can be a little too rich. My friend however, is of Italian lineage and has grown up on it and loves it more than life itself possibly. She is the pasta queen as far as I’m concerned. It just so happens we were walking back to our hotel in Potts Point and whilst she was craving good pasta for dinner, we stumbled upon Fratelli Paradiso. Back at the apartment we looked it and and set our sights on it for dinner and drinks later that night. Not realising how popular it was we got there around 8 and found it to be packed. The waiter kindly took our name and number and pointed us in the direction of some nice bars not too far away for a pre-dinner drink, vowing to call us when a table freed up soon. Needless to say, the wait was completely worth it. Authentic italian staff, who were very attentive and helpful at explaining the very minimalist menu, and authentic italian faire. I had a pasta dish with mussels that was perfectly portioned and full of flavour. my friend had the scampi with spaghetti and considers it up there amongst the best she has ever had, with plans to marry chef. We were in food heaven, and would rate this as the best meal I’ve had in Sydney to date, and pasta no less! In the middle price range, Fratelli’s isn’t something for your average night out, but it’s probably best saved for a special occasion or a romantic date. That being said, if I could, I would eat there a lot. Thanks Fratelli for a great night!

A nice reminder of what great service is like. The staff here works tirelessly to make sure your needs are met. I wasn’t without water, wine, bread, olive oil, balsamic or anything else for even a moment. This stood out more for me than even the food. Speaking of the food, I went with the lasagnetta and it was terrific. Paired it with a nice cab and finished it up with a large portion of tiramisu. I’d give the service 5 stars, the atmosphere 4.5 stars, and the food a solid 4 stars. I’m probably shortchanging them in the food department though. I enjoyed, but wasn’t thrilled with, my lasagnetta but everything being delivered to other tables looked amazing.

What is not well known is Fratelli Paradiso has a pastry chef so the morning pastries are amazing-go look at what is on the pastry trolley! Of course everything here is great, but when they have the Torta di Nona then you have to have dessert. ‘Grandmother’s cake’ is outstanding — and it is gluten free. Every other dessert is excellent as well. If I could afford to eat here every night I would.

High quality ingredients, high quality service, and high quality ambience… this place is the bomb diggity. I have only one complaint about Fratelli Paradiso and that is mostly due to me being a greedy gluttonous American… I wish the portions were larger because the food is soooo good. Call ahead or wait a little while. Upon getting seated your server will spout off the menu verbatim, and this menu changes daily on the blackboard which is ridiculously impressive. If you have any questions about wine or the food they will give you an in-depth review of each, and give their recommendations as well. Hard to recommend anything as the menu changes daily, but know that each dish will be delicious. Come for the food, but stay for the experience.
