Decent fish and chips next to a very underrated beach. The views of the rocky cliffs around here are spectacular. There’s a lot of food options at this chip shop that I didn’t get to try, but lots of things that look good. And this was probably the lowest price I’ve ever paid for fish and chips anywhere.

I love sitting on Port Noarlunga beach in the summer with some good old fish and chips and although not the best, this small shop does offer something very decent. The chips are superb and are salted just the right amount, they are also priced very fairly. Fish is quite decent and I would consider it to be above average, even though it is not the best I have had. The combination Yiros is well priced at $ 9.50, and while it was a good feed, it for far from a standout unfortunately. The lettuce and tomato was fresh and the bread wasn’t that bad but the chicken and lamb was quite salty, and evidently asking for garlic sauce wasn’t the best idea because it ended up as a small sized pool at the bottom of the paper bag. I have dined in here once and it was very nice, however nothing beats the takeaway and sitting on the nice grass or under the jetty on a nice day. Tomato sauce and condiments do cost extra but come in decent sized tubs.

Like Katie, for me, sitting on the beach doesn’t feel right without deep fried potato goodness. At least if I’m not there for swimming, anyway. So a decent fish and chip shop is more or less mandatory if I’m going near the sand. This place is alright. It isn’t terribly expensive, and they do a decent job of the food. Admittedly, I only had the minimum order of chips. But they came out fairly quickly, they weren’t over-salted, and they weren’t those awful, limp things that pretend to be chips. A good time was had by myself and the seagulls that managed to score a few of the left-overs.

Love the chips here, and I agree that there is nothing better than enjoying a package of chips on the beach. True bliss. Unfortunately, the fish and other fare don’t match up to the quality of the chips in my opinion, which is a bit of a downer. Still, the chips are good enough to warrant me going out of my way for them. Remember though to buy extra chips for all the seagulls.
