Really enjoyed our breakfast here. Good choice of seating, outside, inside or balcony. Close to the port Melbourne and beach rd cycle paths. Good coffee and good selection of food.

Love this café… stunning views, warm service, interesting menu. Great breakfast options(a whole avocado on the avo/feta toast!) but just as many lunch choices(duck pancakes, thank you!). Has anything back every come from Asian fusion? I certainly don’t think so. Don’t tell too many people about this place… Its a hidden treasure.

Love this new little place and highly recommend to anyone looking for a new place to eat /coffee /drink in Port. Asian inspired menu, from duck pancakes(delicious) to dumplings, steamed buns and the like, to delicious breakfast fare. Everything here is IMMACULATELY presented. It’s clear to see that the owners, Solar & Monique take great pride in the presentation of every aspect of the business. Love all the designer light fittings, beautiful timber tables and the clock! Great to come alone & enjoy the view of the bay & ferry terminal. Coffee is delicious and so is the Mörk hot chocolate! Fully licensed. Definitely my new fave. Outdoor seating available and dogs welcomed. X

Had dinner tonight with family at this newly opened Café/Restaurant. We had a mixture of dim sum. Some of the freshest we have had and served piping hot. A must try all around. Coffee is good as well.

Popped in for coffee this morning and wished I had room for breaky — because they have DUMPLINGS on the breaky menu. Next time… Fab coffee, friendly/bubbly customer service, great fit-out and fab views. What a great spot in Port Melbourne. Looking forward to coming back for dinner and DUMPLINGS!

Oh you pretty, pretty café. I want to give Lafayette 5 stars for the coffee and fit out alone. I also want to give them 5 stars for creating a beautiful space that is well considered, instead of using their lovely waterfront location as an excuse to be lazy(I’m looking at you, everyone else!) Ok, coffee first. 5 Senses coffee is on offer and they are making delicious brews. They also have filter and the Panama Geisha I had was absolutely perfect and worth every cent. As a coffee nerd, I whole-heartedly approve of what they’re doing here. Then there’s the little touches; the pretty lighting, the gorgeous stools, sparkling water on tap, lovely service and tempting cake cabinet. A lot of love has gone into this place. Food will be the make or break moment for people here. You’ll either love it or hate it. Port Melbourne is full of subpar offerings for the price sensitive or people that want quantity over quality. This is most certainly in the quality over quantity bracket, but the menu needs a bit of tweaking as they settle in before it becomes a really great brunch destination. They offer dumplings for breakfast. Yep, you heard me. Dumplings. For breakfast. After a tip off from a local Unilocaler, I was super excited to try this and ordered the prawn dumplings. 3 little crystal prawn morsels arrived with soy and sweet chilli. This was kind of disappointing as I’m a dumpling vinegar and chilli purest and hate both of these sauce options. But the dumplings itself were filled with fat juicy prawns which justified the $ 8 per 3 price. If this is all you’re having — you’re definitely going to need more than one serve and I probably wouldn’t order this again unless I was after a small bite. They have plenty of other brunch offerings that fill both the breakfast toast-lovers categories and lunchier options. A meal here will set you back between $ 15 — $ 22. If you’re after something different for breakfast, we trialled the pork buns and egg fried rice. Unfortunately neither were really worth the price tag. Flavours are right, but as I mentioned they’re not quite right on portions or price yet. This is a brand new business and I love what they’re doing. Hopefully one that will continue to build and become something truly great.
