A 10am breakfast made a leisurely way to start the day at Hart’s Collective. I never knew this place existed and was the perfect place to sit on the waters edge in a renovated shipping container and take in the view. Very eclectic with the old and new furnishings. Breakfast was ordered at the counter, and I chose free range poached eggs on sourdough with a side of smashed avocado and a latte to wash it down. No complaints from me as the eggs perfectly poached and avocado perfectly smashed. They even do suspended coffees here, and last count they had 24 available!

Great setting. Good service. Really, really good food! I need to go back — soon! I had the gluten-free fritters with poached eggs, a watermelon mint juice and a coffee. It was all delicious. It is a beautiful space, with the deck over the water. Inside, the décor is homey and inviting. Now, if they had dog friendly seating, I might be there every week!

Hart’s Collective is a jewel amongst gems on the Pt. Adelaide waterfront. It has been open about 12 months as of December 2015 and is a collective run by four separate businesses. The thrust of this collective is to help with the ongoing revitalization of the Pt. Adelaide waterfront. The Collective is suspended over the river and highlights the contrast of old(industrial) with the new(glass and steel, clean lines). It is a calming space with homey touches, including couches, pillows, wicker furniture and lovely succulents sprinkled about on tables, many featuring cheery messages like«hey» and«hola!» The reduce, reuse, recycle mantra is strongly present both in the décor and in the philosophy of the little café. I sampled the coffee(skinny flat white) and spent a relaxing morning watching the world go by. I suggest you do the same after a day shopping in the compact downtown or walking the footpath along the riverfront. You might even want to sample the fabulous brekkie fare offered — there is something for everyone found at this, the crown jewel of the waterfront.

Gosh I love living in Port Adelaide and it’s because of places like this. An art gallery/yoga studio/sewing classroom/function centre/café hanging over the water. Perfection! Take a look at the food, it’s as good as it looks! Come by in Sunday morning and catch the markets as well — no need to leave the kids at home, the playground is right next the café!

The folklore café is amazing! Magical location that looks over the port river. I ate the pancakes, all I can say is heaven! Lovely atmosphere and great service. A hidden GEM!
