This is our favourite Korean restaurant in Perth. We aim to go here at least once every two weeks for their delicious beef soup and pancakes! The taste is definitely authentic, and portions are quite good, I normally cannot finish a whole of soup by myself. The service is nice too! Definitely on my recommendation list to all the Korean food lovers out there!

Hands down the best kimchi soup in the city. As I’m completely addicted to kimchi soup, that’s reason enough for me to come here over and over again. I also like their side dishes. The food packs a lot of punch flavourwise and is excellent value for money. This is a no fuss establishment; don’t visit if you’re snooty about ambience. It is tiny and gets packed, so come early. I have to be honest and say that I haven’t tried much of the other stuff on the menu because my kimchi soup cravings make it difficult for me to ignore it, but I’m fussy about kimchi soup, and it alone deserves five stars. For the uninitiated, kimchi is spicy pickled vegetable, but it isn’t vinegary. It was the way Koreans used to keep their vegetables through very cold winters. There are different kinds of kimchi: cabbage, radish, radish leaf, cucumber, bean sprout, etc., but cabbage is what you usually get in Perth. Kimchi is an acquired taste. It tends to elicit strong reactions: you either love it or you hate it. It’s bright red and a bit stinky. For this reason, Koreans sometimes have a separate fridge or compartment just for kimchi. They need that much space for it because it’s common to have it as a side dish for all meals. I hate to say it, but in the middle of summer on the subway in Seoul, you can even smell people sweating kimchi! Some other tidbits — it’s standard to get little side dishes at Korean restaurants. Don’t freak out because you didn’t order it! Soups come with a bowl of rice. Pop a couple of spoonfuls in the soup and you have very filling comfort food.

Know this place since Uni days really. Though its a small joint compare to other Korean restaurants, I never find this place empty and at least half the place are always occupied. Also a bonus point when you see most people eating here are Koreans, you know you’ve come to a good place. I am a fan for chillies and its good to know I can opt for an extra spicy for most dishes. Worth a try!
