This takeaway place with minimal seating has soo many options. They have the best dirty chai I’ve ever had for a mere 4.60(large). Their lunch options range from salads, sandwiches, panninis, wraps, and hot food options such as chicken paella, Moroccan lamb pie, pulled pork, pulled beef, etc. This afternoon, I had their Moroccan lamb pie with a side of black rice salad for only $ 14.50. You get a massive serving of pie with pulled lamb inside, chickpeas and sweet potatoes. The black rice salad includes pumpkin and other goodies. Most delicious pie and salad I’ve ever had. And what a bargain too.

Cutting Board is my go-to place whenever in need of a quick, healthy bite to power through the day. Only problem I have is that the portion sizes are so incredibly large that I usually suffer from a food coma afterwards. Their range of pulled meats is fantastic and so are their salads. Their made to order beef burger is still an all time favourite and when I’m feeling adventurous, I put my manly hunger to the test with their ginormous Reuben. Feel like I deserve a T shirt every time I finish one of those.

One of my very first lunch destinations when starting to explore Cloisters was Cutting Board Eathouse, which serves all manner of hot dishes /rolls /salads etc. I tried a chicken schnitzel roll that day, which was okay but a bit simple and could have used some salad and /or cheese, which weren’t obviously offered at the time. On my second visit, I was hovering towards some rather nice pulled beef & pork when I spotted their huge«New York style» hot dog /beast with onions, sauerkraut, cheese, mustard & relish. The sausage was imposing even without anything else around it, and had the«snap» of a quality dog. The cheese was parmesan — not the good, fresh sort — which was weird and didn’t smell very appetising, but I struggled on and enjoyed the dog anyway! It always seems to be busy at Cutting Board — it’s the kind of place where you need to make yourself heard or lose your spot in the queue — and there’s a good variety of dishes to choose from so you’re bound to find something that takes your fancy.

Bought a breakfast wrap, and the scrambled egg inside had bits of egg shell left inside. Egg shells belong in the bin, not in your mouth. It’s unsanitary(the outside of egg shells contains bacteria and are a common source of food poisoning). I won’t be eating here again.

I love this addition to Cloisters Square! All I want to do is continue to go back for lunches so I can try everything that they have to offer. The first time I tried it out I had the chicken schnitzel roll with salad which was fresh and delicious and I love that their rolls are all $ 10 or under, very rare in the city! My second time I had the pulled pork roll with apple sauce and it was amazing! Huge as well and such good value for money. My girlfriend had the gnocchi as well and it was so creamy and delicious. I love that they have the option of fresh hot food as well like pasta. We also split a huge cookie that was so good! I could have a million of them, similar to a subway cookie where it’s soft and a little crunchy on the outside. The sweets there are cheap as well and big servings. It’s a great place for lunch, you won’t be disappointed!

Two visits on my first day here probably tells you all you need to know about how much I loved it here… Regular readers of my reviews will no doubt know I appreciate good service and they deliver in! Everyone who came was welcomed with a «can I help you sir(or mam)» how adorable, and the staff obviously enjoy it here; I could not help but notice them bopping to the music when not taking orders — note to other owners happy staff usually provide better service. And the food was not lacking either, for brekkie I tried the green wrap: scrabbled egg and spinach & a coffee both were taste and the correct(Goldilocks) temperature; hell when they could answer my question about the muffin type they ripped one open to try :) Next for lunch I had the fish with a side of Caesar both were spot on, the fish was flavoursome but not over done and the salad I got a whole egg, a nice amount of bacon and only a light amount of dressing — just to my liking!!! As yet cloisters arcade is still quite so it is still easy to get a seat which is nice; all in all highly recommended for a work day treat!
