Been here about 3 times. Once for a fairly average roast. My friend sent hers back as it was cold. The last time I went here I had 3 people within close proximity arrive at the bar after me get served before me. I muttered something about this only to have the bar man hear(whoopsies) and then disagree with me. I know bar people must cop a lot of crap sometimes but was so annoyed he thought I was wrong so I left.

Nice and quiet on a Wed night with half price drinks and food. Nice and chilled mid week stop. Some nice cocktails with patient bar tenders. Food and cocktails should be half price all the time. Forgot to add that you do have to wait for your food to come out as only one chef on outdoor bbq. It’s a cool place of your not in a rush.

I’m very 50⁄50 on this place… On the downside I found myself having to wait at the bar for a while before I was served and that was before the crowd started rolling in. And while I was spoilt for choice with their selection of cocktails I was disappointed when I had to change my order twice because they didn’t have certain fruits in stock to make some of their fruity cocktails. However the crowd and atmosphere was awesome and their finger food platters went down very nicely. It was definitely nice to have a table booked as their was a large group of us on Saturday night and didn’t have to worry about awkwardly standing in the middle of everything. I would love to check this place out again on a hot summers night and take advantage of their rooftop space and hopefully try some of their fruity cocktails. Perfect place to start of a Saturday night!

A bit oldish design and feel, very small rooftop area and overall not a place I will return to. If you wish rooftop in Perth go to Aviary

This happens to be one of my favourite chill spots in Perth, great for occasions! I have come here mulitple times and one of which was my birthday(as hungover as I was) the food and staff were amazing, prices are moderates for such an elegant décor, with prices like this who says you cant live the high life without spending a fortune. The Lamb Rack is amazing, extremely big portions, I cant pass up giving them credit for their coctail skills and general Gin & Tonic making(I am a gin girl afterall) I will be coming back as long this place is serving a good G&T.

Overpriced and artificial atmosphere. Our group went there in between a wedding and I wanted a coffee and was told no they do not serve coffee but do serve a espresso martini… where is the service. We were also shuffled around the place as they were making room for the reserved bookings.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while because of the ‘rooftop’ novelty, but I was extremely disappointed. I went for lunch and they only served us room temperature water on a very hot day. The lamb I had was mainly fat(hardly any meat) and the finished plates weren’t removed from our table until we left. This is definitely more an evening ‘drinks only’ place — if anything. I will say that the cocktails were pretty tasty though. But we’re spilt almost every time they were served to the table.

The Conservatory is a fun concept — enter via the side alley next to Carnegies and up a lot of stairs and you will find yourself in an open space with a retracting roof and an al fresco area that has barbecues set up along one wall. The staff appear to mainly be blow-ins from Ireland and other far-flung places but this adds to the casual atmosphere. On Wednesdays there are great cocktail specials and their weekday lunch specials are good value for a bite and drink in the Perth sun. The view over the corner of Murray St & King St makes for an interesting distraction. On Friday nights it is very busy and noisy up here, and expect to wait a little while to be served at the bar. There is a function area at the back which has been done up nicely and can more or less be closed off from the rest of the venue. In my opinion Perth can never have too many rooftop venues!

This place has been on my radar for a while. When you say the words ‘Rooftop Bar’ to me, I generally stop listening after that and begin imagining myself sipping cocktails in the sun, like some movie star in 60’s Miami. My first encounter with The Conservatory was on a hot Perth afternoon. You know the ones; where you are perspiring so much that you can’t write it off as ‘lady sweat’… I was instantly impressed by what they had been able to do with the limited space they had. There are high bar tables inside under cover in the air-conditioning by the bar and large glass doors that open up to the ‘garden’. Fake turf and a few umbrellas set the scene. The vibe of the place is very cool, even if the lack of shade makes you feel very hot. There was a really nice wine menu and cocktail list. I would totally come back to The Conservatory and emulate my favourite film stars… only i’d do it under the stars. At night.
