Sparkles.. . need I say more?! This treasure chest of all that glitters, shimmers and, it must be said–«sparkles» has popped up outside Target in the Murray st mall. If the $ 5 and $ 10 racks of Ts don’t raise your eye brow then surely the fancy dress masks and accessories on the wall will– they proudly display the classic disguises(including the trashy trio: glasses, BIG nose and thick black mo– an oldie but a goodie.. . on someone elses face!) They’ve also got some cheap, but stylish mascarade masks for a bargain of $ 10– I’m not promising any family heirlooms but for a potentially messy new years eve celebration– this could save serious face!!! It looks like the shop is still getting unpacked and the workers, when I stole a sneaky peak, were enjoying a cross store chat with mouths full of food. I navigated the store quietly so as not to disturb them. If that doesn’t say this gear sells itself” then I don’t know what does? For what it is: a cheap, novelty, glitter fix with emergency suspenders and last minute gifts and accessories, Sparkles does the job. Whether it could be done«better» remains questionable, as I see part of the appeal of these stores being that they make a statement by remaining undetrstated and ambigiously common. Another pop up, get your cheap bling on shop– I’ll revise my review when the boxes are completely unpacked and the smoko is over. –Sparkles, in smoke and on mirrors.
