One word — disappointing. Rang and made a booking three weeks prior to the nominated date. Turned up on the day and our group booking was not in the book. The manager was unhelpful and attempted on numerous occasions to get us to leave. However only after we kicked up a stink she sat our group at a table outside which was surprising as she said they were«fully booked!!» Won’t be going back or recommending this place to anyone in the future.

Lovely location on the river. Excellent service — attentive and personable. I was very pleased with most of the meal and will go back to try a larger variety of dishes. Very fair pricing and well prepared food. A rarity in Perth…

The view at Shun Fung is astounding. If you have the fortune of a balcony seat, you get an unparalleled view of the river. You might get the additional fortune of watching the river go through capricious mood swings, from being calm as glass to foaming waves. The food, on the other hand, is something of a disappointment. It is not wholly Chinese, but not exactly Western either. Perhaps a better description would be Asian Fusion, but even that term denotes some sort of cohesion in the menu. Instead, some parts of their menu made me wonder what they were thinking. Crispy pork with… melon and strawberries? Overall, a great view but the is hit and miss.

Make sure you get a Balcony seat here, if you don’t there really isn’t any point in coming. Don’t get me wrong– I do love this restaurant especially on a sunny day, however you pay for the view here. You can get cheaper and better Chinese food in Northbridge, but you cant beat the view of the Swan River here. The service is also great and they welcome kids too, I just love going to restaurants that make a fuss over my children. The best dishes here are the Szechuan chicken and the crispy chicken, both of these dishes are spicy. We also tried the Crispy pork with strawberry sauce, we were not fans it was a bit odd with bits of strawberry and Melon tossed in. Dishes range from $ 24.00 up to $ 48, but as I say you are paying for the view. They also serve Dim Sum here.
