I came to Shafto’s with some workmates for a boozy lunch just before Christmas. In the middle of the silly season buzz we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, sitting outside in the shaded area on the lane. There were four of us and we wanted to share a light lunch so we didn’t order much, but we all ended up more than full nonetheless! We got the tapas started for two, which consisted of two rice balls, two meat balls, two mushroom and potato patties and two rice cakes. Split between four, half of each portion was more than enough as a starter. We also shared a pizza — chilli, pepperoni and onion — which was thin-based, light and cooked to perfection. We all struggled to finish our quarter. Topped off with a delightful bottle of white wine, we could have stayed here for the rest of the day! Shafto’s also do great deals on dinner during the week — on Wednesday and Thursday they do a pizza and beer or wine for $ 18.
