Perth’s best barista and coffee. There is nothing even close in the CBD and easily top 5 in Perth Metro Area(so WA really). Go and try it for yourself and don’t be fooled by the line waiting — they will have enough hands on deck to have your coffee made in 5 minutes.

Great little hole-in-the-wall coffee shop! The best coffee I’ve had in a long time, and personal service to go along with it.

In the tuff coffee market in perth Mad Lilly’s faces competition from two other stores in. London Court alone! For me they find a balance between friendly(talking to their regulars) and helpful(stopping to make you order) that not every shop that depends on its clientele gets right… Their coffee has always been good, and the couple of food items i have tried; hames cheese crossing and beef and sun dried tomato flat bread were nice too. They have space inside to shelter from any sudden bad weather and a couple of tables if you want to either sip your coffee etc.

Barista Kwahou is one of the friendliest guys you’ll make. Really personable guy who makes you feel welcome every time as he handcrafts the perfect cuppa. Small store but folks don’t mind waiting for their quality brew.

Great place to get a coffee in the mornings when running for the bus. The staff are always friendly and service is fast.

I am not sure why I spent so many wasted coffee hunts avoiding this place. I suppose I just thought that because it was in London Court that is mustn’t be that great but as I ordered my coffee I may as well have asked for a slice of humble pie. The coffee is smooth and the guy who makes it is just as smooth and remembers a face. I also got one of their brownie slices which to date remains the best brownie I have had in Perth. It was smooth and chocolatey and full of hazelnuts. Unfortunately the last 2 times I was there it was raining so I wasn’t overly excited about sitting outside but during the summer this will be my coffee spot of choice in the cbd.

Second stop on ‘Kasia’s Mini Awesome Solo City Coffee Expedition Extravaganzaaaaa’(See Standing Room Only review for context) was Madlilys Espresso in London Court. Early on a Tuesday morning a mix of weary St Georges Tce types mixed with some East CBD side types like myself were all huddled around looking for their next caffeine fix. Service was fast and precise and I know many of my collegues go here on a religious basis. My latte was really great, it was rich in flavour and at a perfect temp. I will be coming here again!

Mad Lilys is one of those cafes I feel is underrated, a lot of people I speak to chose other cafes over this one, I begun to wonder way as I saw the little shop with so much charm. I sat in there for a while with my smooth and rich coffee and my cookie. The cookie I think stole the show for me, and I think if it came down to this shop or another the main reason I would pick this, is because of those overlay good cookies.

Mad Lilys Espresso isn’t just for an up and go. This trendy little café has a little bit of competition on a relatively small but busy strip. What sets it above and beyond is it’s funky fresh vibe-and restricted seating. Supply and demand, the less of something– in my mind– usually the more valuable it is and in this case I’m referring to 3 bright orange, outside tables! They are very much the life vests of the London Court strip. While this may seem a tad dramatic, London Court isn’t a torrential shopping channel, so carrying a coffee throughout the shops is easily done, but I’m sure I’m not alone in appreciating the luxury of embracing a drink in the seated position, and as far as seats here go– this is a lovely spot to just chill. It might not be as BIG or as air conditioned as other cafes on the strip, but it is low key and cool and I like that! The coffee shop itself is fairly intimate(code for small) but the space is utalised and along with the usual cakes and cookies on display, upon the side wall is an array of reading material for those of all inclinations(the usual suspects: news papers, music mags and more-) The menu is straight forward and the prices are reasonable, you’re looking at a light meal and a coffee for between the $ 10-$ 15 mark. The music has a groove and the barister was almost as smooth as my espresso(ordered in Mad Lilys honour) and all in all quite a pleasant experience. Mad Lily.. . we will meet again.
