Great food truck! Thoroughly enjoyed the food. Really nice mutante roll, loved the kale and chimichurri, one of the better beef rolls I’ve had a in a long time. For anyone who can remember the old chicken patties at Chicken Treat back in the 80’s, try the coxinha, a ball of shredded chicken and potato goodness that will bring back childhood memories!

Fantastic Brazilian food truck that seems to pop up whenever I am least expecting it. I am quite partial to the Choripán(a Brazilian hot dog type affair with chorizo) and everything else I have had has been very fresh and tasty. Quick, tasty and very friendly staff — what’s not to like?!

We found Comida Do Sul last night down at the beach. It was a cute little set up with seats on the grass and umbrellas. I love the look of this food truck it is very inviting. There were heaps of people there waiting to try some Brazilian food. I tried the Coxinha which is potato dough on the outside and shredded chicken on the inside. It was really nice, especially after adding some chilli sauce to spice it up. I also had the O Mutante which is beef steak, chilli sauce, mayo, chimichurri and kale. It is a bun of heaven. I loved it!!! Both came to a total $ 17. I think I may have to search down Comida Do Sul a few more times to try everything else on the menu. I was also surprised and very happy to see they had a eftops machine!

I had a taste of this amazing Brazillian food at the Leederville Carnival 2014. I shared a Coxinha(dough ball with shredded meat) and Prato Feito(a rice, bean and meat meal) with my sister. The Coxinha was chewy on the inside and crunchy on the outside and not too heavy at all. The Prato Feito was a mix of salted beautiful steak, beans, rice in a yummy sauce with crumbs(farofa(crushed yam) and a crunchy cassava. I haven’t ever tried the Prato Feito before but every bit of it was so yummy. I really hope to come across Comida Do Sul again– in the meantime I will just reminince.

A roaming van filled with Brazilian delights, this van will excite your tastebuds in whatever setting you wish. Follow the escapades and locations, which seem to focus mainly on the south(Fremantle, Leighton, Bentley) areas, on their facebook page Comida do Sul Brazilian Food Truck. We indulged our tastebuds on a sunny day looking over Leighton Beach. I feel a moment to explain the background of the Brazilian van helps to paint the picture of this food truck. An Australian man packs his bag to go on an adventure around South America, and leaves his heart in Brazil, with a lovely lady. After time spent toing a froing across the oceans, they settle in W.A. and create a food baby(the van) using their mutual love for South America, Brazilian food, and each other(nyawww) And all this food actually tastes like it is created with love, by your very own Brazilian mother. If you had a Brazilian mother. I have spent over a year in Brazil, so I had to go for the«prato feito», a mix plate of beans, rice, picanha(awesome cut of beef), mandioca frita(fried root vegetable that translates as «cassava»), farofa(yummy stuff to sprinkle on everything) and a bit of kale to freshen the palate. Everything tasted so deliciously real and home made, it took me straight back to the kitchens of Brazil. Thank you! Inside the truck, they also dish out fancy Chorizo style hot dogs with salsa, vegetarian versions of everything, and the infamous coxinha(meaning little thigh), so named because it is meant to resemble a chicken thigh, which is crunchy and golden fry on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth potato dough just below, and with a little surprise of spicy shredded chicken as a treat in the middle. They also stock Guarana, for you avid soft drink fans(yum), paletas, and some coconut rice dessert things. Anyway, with their combo of relaxed, nomadic fair, friendly service, and delicious authentic food, you can’t really go wrong. Just make sure you get there kind of early as they sometimes sell out, and in not too much of a rush as they can get pretty busy! Adorei!
