We came for a smallish farewell lunch and I have to admit, I find this complex quite overrated for food however Basilica pleasantly surprised me. The group agreed that my dish was the pick of the day, however the burger was almost as good as my Scallop Salad. If you know me you’ll know I rarely order salads, however the rest of the extensive menu just wasn’t grabbing me as it didn’t SOUND exciting(though I do often judge too soon). The salad was brilliant value, with scallops, chorizo, prawns, mesclun, half of an avo, lots of other bits but a gorgeous tangy dressing which lifted the whole dish. I was quite unimpressed I only got 2.5 scallops in a Scallop, Prawn and Chorizo Salad however it was filling, tasty and beautifully presented. The service was good and the atmosphere nice. I’d go back but the rest of the meals weren’t as good value or as tasty as mine so choose carefully.

Coffee and brekky were ok — but nothing to rave about. The service was disappointingly slow, albeit I was in a major hurry that morning and so I’m sure it felt twice as long as it actually was. If you have lots of time on your hands, I think it would be a lovely café to relax over a coffee and brekky in the morning. Or if in a hurry try ordering a takeaway — they seemed to be pumping through a bit queue that morning.

This place is up and down. Sometimes the coffee is excellent and other times it is burnt and bitter. Sometimes the brekkie is excellent and other times really poor. The Irish woman who serves behind the counter is BRILLIANT, really switched on, friendly and efficient and an asset to the place.

Its one of the better spots in the city, but pricey for the quality. Waiters are below average.

A very reliable place for lunch in the city — always has good food and although the menu changes fairly regularly, there is always something for a picky eater and guaranteed to taste good. Happy to facilitate a group booking and you can also pre-order meals if you don’t have long to eat. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful so all up if makes for a pleasant meal.

Basillica are a reliable and quick morning coffee option. I am a regular and unlike coffee places nearby a line here in the morning does not mean a half an hour wait for coffee. They also do nice food and goof lunch coffee combos if you order it in the morning.

Delicious breakfast, great coffee and plenty of people watching options. The sun reflecting from the buildings around was absolutely blinding me and I had to move inside after a while… And the high chairs were not the most comfortable ones to hang out, but they help get you started in the morning!

I was running ahead of schedule to meet someone and hadn’t eaten all day. I decided to drop in to Basilica for a burger. I’d never eaten here before and I prefer trying new places than repeating the old ones. I ordered a Blackwood beef burger. It’s not the best burger I’ve had in Perth but it was pretty good. The beef was organic and the quality was very high. Wasn’t as tasty as Jus Burgers but it is a café, not a burger joint. Seems like a cool enough place, the staff are very friendly and there’s a large contingent of business people enjoying their coffees around the place All in all, 4⁄5

I have been a semi regular here since they opened, I have found that whilst they can get chaotic of a morning and at lunch peak hour, there smooth operation ensures that you get you ordered food or coffee in a reasonable time. The coffee has always been excellent even at peak times which is a good indication of their attention to details. I have sample most of the food from cooked breakfasts and muesli to lunch of salad and steak witches; plus I cannot forget the sweet treats! So far everything has been of a consistently high standard and it is one of my go to places in Brookfield place — which has plenty of competition.

Have been meaning to try Basilica for a while due to coffee rumours so when an old colleague asked to meet here for breakfast today I was pretty excited. We both ordered the vegetarian full breakfast swapping the fried egg for poached and loved it. Great portion of mushrooms, spinach and haloumi. Only comes with one egg which wasn’t a problem for us and the tomato was slightly undercooked but overall a delicious meal. The coffee rumours are also true if you work nearby definitley worth a visit. Not relevant for takeaways but just watch the quick hands my coffee was taken away before finished! Great for people watching, meetings and nice open interior — really great addition to the city café stream.

I love this place for its casual but modern atmosphere. Food is served quickly and I love that the steak sandwiches are easy to eat. $ 21 served with fat chips & house mayo is pretty good value esp being amongst the more expensive dining venues in Brookfield Square.

OMG yum. Just got back to the office after a great little girls’ lunch at Basilica around the corner from our building. They were able to accommodate our last minute booking and when we arrived at 1pm the café was not super full so the ambience was great. The staff are like theives in the night and will work effortlessly around you. The waitress did put down the wrong dish in front of someone but this was easily fixed. I ordered the parpadelle pasta with peas, asparagus and parmesan minus the pancetta and they were very happy to oblige. It was delicious and even scored some points in the ‘looks healthy’ category. A lot of people seem to order one of the three burgers on the menu(chicken, beef or lamb) which looked really good, served on wooden boards with a mini scanpan pot full of beer battered chips on the side. I have also been here for a coffee meeting with an interstate guest and agree with Lynn M that this is a perfect meeting spot for corporate clients as it is not too noisy and also not too pricey!

Basilica is a handy new coffee shop in the CBD surrounded by possible clientele. As the new C2 building started to fill up with staff, so did the local coffee shops and food courts, to a point whereby it was hard to get lunch. Basilica is a good meeting spot for corporate clients as it is a bit more upmarket than its surrounds. It is also a great spot for a quiet coffee and a yummy cake away from that maddening crowd. Plus…the latte is creamy and hot, a winner in my books.
