Great chicken Tom Kha Ghai soup! Excellent lemon grass flavors. Then the deep fried whole Baramundi fish in chili sauce! Paired with a Bottle of Australian Shiraz to share… Fantastic!!! Pretty young and ritzy place too. I’d definitely come back when in the Parramatta area in future.

This is my favourite Thai place in Parramatta. It’s not the cheapest, but it does have the tastiest dishes! The service is friendly and the décor is pretty well-done, fitting in with the classiest places in Church st. I especially like the strange jazz covers of 90’s pop and rock songs that always seems to be playing when I go, inexplicable! They have all the standard Thai dishes, with Duck and Squid as extra meat options. The red duck curry is very nice, that’s my favourite. Portions are quite generous, you could share one main and a side or two between 2, or do what we do and take the extra away for lunch. I wouldn’t bother with dessert here, there are plenty of dedicated dessert places around to satisfy that need. For Thai dinner though, you can’t do better inside Parramatta.

I’ve developed some kind of loyalty to Chilli Jam whenever I’m in Parramatta. Of the last 5 times I’ve eaten in Parra, last Monday was the third time I was jamming with Chilli Jam’s solid selection of food. FOOD Papaya Salad with soft shell crab — always a winner. Not too spicy BBQ beef with sticky rice — beef can be a bit tough but such great flavour. My favourite! Chicken Panang Curry — creamy curry that’s not too spicy but still flavoursome So there always has to be a dud in the menu and unfortunately I picked it. Noddi wrap — it wants to be a Vietnamese roll but it’s just not. OVERALL The restaurant has a relaxed chill vibe to it. Good for both groups and dates. I’m sure I’ll have many dates with Chilli Jam in future.
