Biome Eco Friendly Lifestyle Stores feature eco friendly products including a wide range of ecologically friendly products to help us all make a difference to our planet each and every day. You’ll find Natural & beautifulnatural skin care, mineral makeup and cosmetics, organic baby wares, glass baby bottles, fairtrade gifts, BPA free reusable and safe water bottles, non-​toxic green clean products and so much more.

Established in 2003.

Biome is pronounced bye-​oh-​m (rhymes with ‘home’).

Beginning in 2003 as an online shop — which remains very important to us — we grew into a physical store in Paddington (Brisbane) in June 2005, then opened our second store in the Brisbane CBD in September 2007.

Today, we are a multi-​talented team of Biomettes and Biomers who wear their love for the planet on their sleeves and who bring to work every day an enthusiasm to help you with the simple choices that will make a difference.

Biome was founded by Tracey Bailey and is a passionate family business. After working in corporate communications and starting a family, we made a choice to be part of the solution to our planet’s future.

Biome specialises in beautiful Australian hand-​made gifts and home accessories, making it easy for you to support Australian small business in these tough times.

The Biome concept was inspired by those of us who want to make a difference, but feel the actions we take may have have little impact or simply can not find the choices.

I’m still a bit confused: is pronounced Bi-​ome (rhymes with home) or Bio-​me (rhyes with tea)? No matter, a store by any other name would smell as sweetly… I went here to see what’s up after being given a gift of olive oil shaving soap and told it was from Biome. I was hooked on the stuff and wanted to get some more. At close to $ 20 you coould get the cheap and nasty stuff from the supermarket but it wouldn’t leave your skin feeling as soft or have that same lingering pleasantly natural aroma.
In addition to stocking such unique products, the service here is fantastic. The bubbly young staff happily give you any information you need without ever pushing the sale. I’ve been here several times looking for a present for someone and have felt no pressure or bad vibes even when I’ve ended up walking out empty handed.
Their men’s skincare and beauty range is fairly good but pales in comparison to the women’s selection. Animal-​loving beauties will be impressed with their selection of cruelty-​free mineral makeup.
Living ethically and sustainably isn’t necessarily cheap, so it’s good that Biome’s flagship store has found its home in one of the more affluent suburbs. They seem to be doing well for themselves. Despite the premium price of some of their products, they still have a number of options for less than $ 10, like their luxurious soap balls, which make a good token gift idea (just as long as the recipient isn’t so sensitive that they’ll think you’re trying to tell them something).

Stepping into this store I swear I’ve never smelled anything so delicious; whatever it was in this shop that provided such a treat for my nose smelled divine. This amazing shop sells only eco friendly products. They have strict criteria that each item must fulfil before being permitted to cross the threshold. Not only must everything be eco friendly, but they prefer products made in Australia.
Apart from all the beyond good karma you’ll bank up from shopping here, the products they sell are irresistible. There’s a lot of stuff here; it’s described as an earth-​friendly home, body and lifestyle store, so you can imagine how many items fall under that recycled umbrella. I highly recommend this place, do yourself and the rest of the world a favour and pay them a visit.
