You want to make a man happy, bring him to Kosmic and let him blast away. My dad has brought numerous guitars, amps, professional audio and accessories from Kosmic and they always are of the highest quality. Quite often I come along with him because the experience is simply worth it; there is a ridiculous amount of equipment it’ll literally blow your mind away and the walls are lined with signed posters of famous musicians. The best thing about Kosmic is that they only sell the best products, sure they may initially be pricey but it goes to show your not buying anything crappy. When it comes to resale, you often get a decent chunk of your money back because of the durability of the products that Kosmic sells — I speak from experience after my dad has resold numerous guitars and I have sold my keyboard after playing for only a few years.

Tucked away in the industrial area of Osborne Park is Kosmic Sound and Lighting, one of the largest music shops in Perth.
Kosmic deals with all aspects of music. Lining one wall are a multitude of guitars, while along the back wall are bass guitars. There is a room for keyboards, another section dedicated to DJ equipment, a drum area, amplifiers, recording equipment, guitar pedals — chances are, name it and Kosmic will probably have that in stock.
Not only is Kosmic large, but they also offer competitive prices on music equipment. The staff are also happy to haggle over prices with you, so if you are buying equipment from Kosmic, have a discussion with your salesperson. Usually, you’ll find that the pricetag on your desired equipment is a serving suggestion only.
There is a very good range of equipment at Kosmic, although it veers towards the vanilla. For guitars, Gibson and Fender are well-​represented, so if your interest is towards those [admittedly iconic] brands, then you will find yourself satisfied. For those who are looking for alternative brands, however, you may be disappointed.
The blandness of equipment extends to guitar pedals, with the range mostly dominated by brands such as Boss and Digitech. While there is nothing wrong with those brands, those who are looking for more variety for their pedal collection should probably go elsewhere.
On the plus side, Kosmic is staffed with very knowledgeable and friendly members, who are happy to discuss the finer aspects of their specialty instrument, as well as being able to shoot the breeze. The staff are more than happy to help you with your selection, as well as understanding that there are times when you need the space to try out gear.
If you are a beginner or intermediate player, or someone who is a fan of brands like Gibson or Fender, Kosmic is a recommended store. The prices are fair, the staff are willing to go out of their way to help, and if you are lucky, you may spot one Hank Marvin bringing a guitar in for repairs.
