I really like the convenience of this location! It has everything you need in this supermarket. Well just about. Recently renovated fruit & vegetable section it looks great! You do get your weekly specials but when you come here regularly you tend to find items that are lower in price than supermarkets! On the other hand, depending on what you pop in for it can be a bit pricey! Staff are always friendly. Inside the mall is a chemist as well!

Great shop selling local produce that’s always very fresh. The range of cheese and meat is superb and always very well priced.

Thank goodness for farmer jacks — we are visiting our family that live just down the street and it is so convenient to shop at Farmer Jacks. Produce was great, local and fresh. Heaps of specials and helpful staff. I am so glad my dad has a store so close!

Only just arrived in Perth 3 weeks ago, located in Ocean Reef just across the road from Farmer Jack’s so I have been relying on it alot. Contrary to what I have been informed, this grocery store has everything a basic grocer needs. True, the meat here isn’t the freshest but they are still alright, have good marinated(for easy cooking) packages and they aren’t too pricy. Common essentials such as milk, fruits, rice, sauces and pre-packed meals are available here in variety and nothing short of quality. I guess it depends on what you are looking for; if you are located nearby and need any items it is definitely worth it to stop by. However, if you are looking to do bulk shopping, it is better to head to coles or woolies with their wider ranges and better deals. The daily closing hour of 9pm helps a great deal too, especially since it gives life to an otherwise quiet suburb. Heck, it was where I chose to do my motorcycle transaction at night(Yes, I bought a vroom vroom within 2 weeks of my arrival). The staff here are also friendly and helpful when approached and there is usually a security guard patrolling the store in the evening. There is also a redi atm here as well as a yummy thai restaurant, so I usually stop by to grab basic grocery items and dinner. The pre-packed lasagne and pizzas are usually cheaper than anywhere else so I have a whole bunch of them in my freezer. I never fail to grab the 99 cents half-cabbage whenever I am there.

The reason I am writing about this Farmer Jacks in particular is because of the numerous bad experiences I have had with the place. The meat 9⁄10 times if off, and the veggies if not riddled with bugs then they are most likely brown. You have to check the expiry date on everything, you don’t know when you are going to get a bad egg or day old milk. The service, wait whats that again? It doesnt exist they barely say Hi as you get to the checkouts. It is the closest supermarket to me and open till 9 so it is handy, but trust me there is NO way I would buy meat from there, and for everything else, the expiry date is checked and the product examined.
