I love it when you find adorable little boutique fashion stores which are not available on every main shopping street in the city, because then you definitely know it’s going to cater something a little bit different to everything else. It is definitely a really cute store, but again it’s not a store you would find yourself seeking out in particular. They have some really good sale items, though there is usually something wrong with the items that are really on sale, so be sure to check it out before you buy it.

The name may have changed from Kitschy and Cute to just plain Kitschy — but most of what you’ll find in here is definitely of the ‘cute’ variety. Kitschy is the little sister to the more grownup and high end Sooki Boutique just down the road, but has the same on trend, effortless, playful and Aussie focused aesthetic — if a lower price point. It’s not fashion forward or high end: more your cute everyday pieces that won’t break the bank. With racks organised by hue, it’s easy to browse fast fashion labels like Minkpink, Ladakh, Wish, Cooper St and the like and find something to take home with you. I shop here a lot less than I did a few years ago, but I think that’s my tastes changing rather than Kitschy.

A small yet rather sufficient store, which is home to a nifty little collection of pretty clothes for young women. Kitschy and cute basically sums it up. I like Kitschy because it is one of a few boutiques that make up the shopping district of sorts located at Norwood. This makes The Parade an enjoyable shopping experience for every now and then. You wouldn’t come to Norwood solely to shop at Kitschy, but rather you would visit Norwood with the intention of shopping at a variety of little dress shops such as Kitschy. Note Difference. The clothes here are nothing you haven’t seen before but the store still provides the possibility of walking away quite happily with a brand new purchase. It probably helps to have some sort of idea of the type of item you’re aspiring to leave with. Eg. Dress for New Years Eve. Lastly sale items include 50% off particular dresses for reasons like, «Brown marks on the inside of dress». Nothing that some elbow grease and a little bit of Omo can’t erase.
