After strolling through Northbridge early one morning I came across this lovely store. I went in ordered a coffee only to be charged a very low price of $ 3.50& mine is a soy! The coffee was delicious & the lady was delightful. It was quite old school Italian clientele, with great Italian accents to create a feeling of being in a small town somewhere in beautiful Italy. They have such an array of Italian brands ranging from pots of all sizes(huge to tiny), cutlery, recipe books, coffee makers & all you would need to make that perfect cup of coffee, crockery etc. Then there is the wide & delicious variety of food from an amazing deli, to all types of olive oil, pastas, sweets & any other Italian food source you could want. Well worth a visit.

The original and still one of the best. Great coffee, legendary rolls and lots of other great stuff. Now with more tables and open early(just for coffee). Not many hipsters just authentic Italian food and service.

The Re Store has been around for many years, run by a European family that migrated to W.A. They important quality European brands from kitchen appliances to cheese and olive oil. Offering a little slice of Italian culture the Northbridge store sells coffee, chocolate, cheese, pasta, crockery, kitchen appliances, pots and pans, oils, condiments and much more. At the rear of the store is a deli and they make a killer sandwich. There is seating outside. The Leederville and Northbridge stores do vary, the Northbridge store is the place to go for home wares and gifts. The selection is a lot larger than the Leederville store. I love the range of espresso cups, you definitely will not find the style any where else in Perth. The Northbridge store also stocks crêpe and waffle pans as well as pasta makers. If you are hand making pasta, all the necessary equipment can be found instore. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. I went to purchase some ground coffee and the lady asked me what I was to brew it with, I responded ‘a cafeteria’ and she said ’ Oh no you need finely ground coffee, I will grind you some now”. Like I said amazing service! In the way of coffee there are a number of brands to choose from including Re Store’s family brand(budget friendly in price) and the higher end brand Silvana. Both are freshly roasted in Northbridge.

This is the European corner of global food world in Northbridge and Leederville. The aroma of antipasti type dishes and sandwiches filled with salami and mozarella. The bread isn’t heavy and always tastes fresh. Its not only sandwiches either, the ravioli and gnocchi(2 of my favourite dishes) are very tasty and fresh. Oh and to add, its as cheap as a bird in Cottesloe on a sunny evening… cheapy cheap cheap.

When you’ve had your fill of over-exotic foods and just want a simple panini, you can’t go past the lunch rolls at Re Store. This place is like an institution to an Aussie/Italo boy like me. My uncle used to work here, and to this very day, whenever Mum can’t be bothered putting on a pasta sauce for lunch, she’ll send one of us kids down with $ 20 in our pocket to buy four mixed-coldcut panini. Can you believe that? Four rolls packed with mixed meats at just $ 5 a pop? You can’t get a decent spot of lunch like that elsewhere around town these days. But Re Store is also excellent for all the quality produce is offers customers. Everything from freshly prepared arancini(rice croquettes packed with vegetables or meat), to cacciofelli in oil in jars, to every conceivable type of olive and olive oil is here for the purchasing. There’s a carpark out front which makes things handy on those big grocery shop-up days, and do yourself a favour next time you’re in this neck of the woods: after shopping at Re Store, go down the road to compare prices with IGA Leederville and you’ll be pleasantly surprised that some of your more gourmet foods are actually cheaper here. Salute!

Yes, yes, oh my god yeeeeeeees. This is me after biting into a freshly made continental roll from the Re Store. Salami, prosciutto, capsicum, eggplant, artichoke Jarlsberg, lettuce and mayo in a crusty white bread and I am seriously weak at the knees. This Italian delicatessen and retail store does the best lunch rolls around by far. Then of course there’s all the wonderful European produce, the hand-made ravioli, pasta and gnocchi, the Italian biscuits, the cheeses, the dips, the sweets, the antipastos, shit my heart just skipped three beats. This is the mother of gourmet food retail in Perth, plus there are European appliances and homewares for sale as well. It’s seriously, mother-flippin’ amore.

If you get it on the right day, walking into the Re Store can feel like you’re stepping out of Perth and into a 1950s café on the streets of Rome. Old men arguing over espressos, mothers feeding their children, food everywhere. It’s an Italian specialty store so as you can imagine, they stock everything Italian. One day I stumbled across a key chain with a chilli on it, which is a good luck charm in Italy, so I brought it straight up. I’ve often taken many of my Australian friends there to show them the delights my homeland has to offer. The service isn’t amazing but like most Italian women(myself included) they have short fuses and don’t like to waste time. Definitely worth the trip!
