In Perth for a few days and walked around checking out some of the local nightlife. Ended up coming to Mint around 2100 while it was still early trying to enjoy the night and it turned out to be a good one. There were some stripper poles in there and thought they might have gogo dancers but they didn’t. There were some old sleazy looking guys in there but by the end of the night they were gone. The crowd was young and ready to party. The music they played was all 90s but I think it was one of they’re themes that night. The drinks were about $ 10 so I guess that’s not too bad.

I’ve been to Mint a couple of times and I’ve always had a really great night. That said I love the dance tracks that they play, but don’t come here expecting the latest top 40. Despite the fact that there are a couple of stripper poles designed to encourage the younger and drunker club-goers to more than likely do themselves an injury, I think Mint draws a relatively passive and fun-loving crowd compared to some of the other nearby clubs, which is always nice. Even still, it is a club, so there will always be the girl who gets too drunk, the group who thinks they’re performing at Xotica down the road and the drunken guys just looking to pick up, but sadly, I’ve yet to find a place without that. There is a pretty long wait if you get there after 22:30 but they don’t overcrowd the place which you’ll appreciate once you get inside. Drinks are the same price as most other nightclubs, which is to be expected but they do accept EFTPOS at the bar for transactions over $ 10. Yes, it’s small, and yes they only have two ladies bathrooms(that you need to queue for through a cramped corridor jammed in between two doors, the sink to wash your hands and a crowd of girls reapplying makeup or trying to sober up their drunk friend) but it’s a great place to go and dance the night away!

Yeah, I’m going to have to say no. Of all the clubs and all the bars in Perth, if you go to the Mint, well, stupid is as stupid does. Here’s what I don’t like about the Mint: 1.) It looks and smells like a rundown strip joint. 2.) You want me to pay to get into a rundown strip joint? 3.) The music is so shockingly 90’s all the time. They play nothing else. 4.) They don’t sell wine. Not a single ounce of wine is in this joint. Wtf, mate? 5.) Their overpriced cocktails could be made better by my deceased grandmother for a fraction of the cost. What I do like about the Mint: 1.) Leaving.

If you feel like having a good laugh at the filth that lurks Mint, come on down! Sleazy guys on the prowl for trashy drunk girls. A pole located at the back for wannabe strippers and douchebag dudes who think they look cool. Knickers/G bangers everywhere! Unfortunately some of my friends still enjoy this place so i have wound up there more times than i would have liked. I went there sometime last year and was waiting for my friend in the ladies toilet, infront of me standed a girl with a tiny red dress on which barely covered her bits. What i then witnessed disgusted and shocked me. I noticed liquid run down her leg but no drink in her hand. YESSHEWASURINATING in line, infront of me and many other girls. I looked up in horror at her and she calmly said«dont judge me», are you kidding me!!! All this happened while I was still waiitng for my friend, meanwhile girls are unknowingly walking through her puddle! Absolute disgusting trashy filth. The music played there isnt at all my thing, being top 40 and 80’s, i lurked miserably until we left. Bar staff think they are«the sh*t’ and are quite rude. Classic northbridge barstaff only serving the ‘hot’ people and leaving the rest waiting for ages. You usually get a hilarious show of ‘sloppy hookups’ during a night at the mint and expect your wallet to be empty within an hour, entry is $ 15 and drinks are expensive. Im no wet blanket but this place sucks.

My favourite place in Perth to go for a dance. Daggy 80’s and 90’s pop on Friday nights is killer and the dj is more than happy to take requests. Drinks are on par with Perth prices(about $ 9 for a vodka) and entry will set you back about $ 5 — $ 10 depending on what time you arrive. The venue itself is small but they don’t overcrowd the place so you can usually find a square of dance floor or sticky carpet to show off your rad moves.

Total drunken stupor by the time I walked into this joint. Cool security. Lots of girls. End of review.

Friday nights at the Mint are. well. mint. The DJ spins all the tunes from the 80s and 90s that at first unnerve you, but then throw you into a mad fit of I-used-to-love-this-song dancing. The queue here on Friday and Saturday nights is kind of ridiculous past 11pm, I don’t think it’s worth the forty minutes or so you’re typically forced to wait. A fairly cramped space inside that can be a little uncomfortable but once you hear Backstreet Boys and Whitney, you don’t give a damn about all those hands touching your ass.

I love this nightclub, I go knowing exactly what to expect as it is basically the same every time, a similar crowd, the same music and the same price. The music is 80’s 90’s and chart music. Anything you can sing along to, or dance too. It is always a good night out. Perfect for a girls night and you get to just sing and dance like a fool. The one down fall is the size, it is small are really busy.

I went to The Mint last Friday during one of their famed 80s/90s nights. It was pretty cool. The venue is tiny, and it was packed, but I didn’t get that creepy feeling that I usually get when strangers are forced to touch me from every side. People are just chill. maybe it’s because I was with friends and we didn’t really care about anyone but us. DJ was kind of a dick for refusing to play Queen(come on dude, that’s not cool!!!) but he was alright when he decided to Rickroll us. Oh and bouncers are kind of shady looking and will not let you back in even with a stamp, you gotta queue again(but not pay again).

I went to Mint this past weekend(Saturday night), and I had a fantastic night! We arrived between 11.30pm-12am and we did have to queue outside for a while. The queue was short enough, about 10 – 15 people, but it moved pretty slowly. We were queuing for at least 20 minutes. The best bit about the wait — instead of a red carpet leading to the door they have a faux-grass carpet. When we got inside we realised why we had to wait outside for so long — the venue is very small — two tiny rooms, and so they make sure it doesn’t get too crowded. They keep it at a nice level — enough people to make a great atmosphere but not so much that you’re bumping off everyone and wedged into corners. The clientele in here are great too — friendly and sociable(unlike some of those alienating hipster joints around), but not overly friendly or handsy(unlike some of the messy drinking holes nearby). The music was absolutely tremendous. If you’ve come out with your dancing shoes on and are in the mood to get loose then Mint dancefloor is where you need to be! It’s chart pop with some hip hop/RnB classics thrown in — nothing indie about it, but if you’re looking for a fun place to dance your socks off then they’ve got exactly what you need! There is one negative though — there are only TWO cubicles in the women’s toilets and ONE mirror! It makes for long queues and a stuffy wait — what were they thinking?

This is probably one of the only«clubs» in Perth I can stand for more than 5 minutes. It’s really tiny and gets quite cramped but it’s worth it. On Fridays they have Club Retro when they take me back to my childhood as you dance along to S Club 7 and the Back Street Boys, ahh back in the days. I love Club Retro. It’s one of the best nights out in Perth. Saturday is great as well as they mix up some top 40 with some classic R’N’B. It makes for a great night if you want a dance. They have a strict dress code. My mate didn’t get in because he was was a t-shirt sort of top and lace-up shoes. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! Really cool part of the Mint: You can book out the back room for any functions or events. It’s exclusively VIP until 11pm and you get cheap drinks at your exclusive bar. I’m fairly certain there is a $ 50 bond but if you get 20 people in the door before 9pm you get that back. It’s actually great for birthdays and whatnot.
