Food was epic and cheap and staff are friendly, however we were a large group which stressed one of them out but her colleagues were plenty of help

Char Siew pork rice capital of Perth. Add some chilli oil and you have the perfect lunch, dinner or dare I say even breakfast. With must of the CBD local police enjoying the food they must be doing something right. Evenings can get busy so book ahead.

My family were visiting and wanted to eat here as the Hong Kong style BBQ restaurant is very much their favourite thing. And if meat hanging in the window is your favourite thing then you’ll probably love this place. However, I would steer well clear of this place if you have special dietary requirements. As there was nothing on the menu that I could eat, we ordered a vegetable hot pot. It had prawns in it?!? Last time I checked, prawns weren’t a vegetable. I appreciate this restaurant is meant to be a shrine to meat so I am far from their target market but with an increasing number of people in Australia and worldwide identifying as vegetarian or vegan, it’s not too much to expect that at least one dish(particularly if specifically requested) does not have animal products in it. Furthermore, shark fin appears on the menu which is abhorrent in this day and age given what we know and appreciate about animal welfare and marine conservation globally. Next time my family comes to visit, we’ll definitely be going somewhere else.

Loss of one star for the obligatory Chinese joint chipped crockery and stained chopsticks. However, HUGE serves for a decent price, with super fast service. You know you are safe when not one, but 15 uniformed and plain clothed West Australian Police came in for lunch take aways during the time I was there. The Police chopper was hovering overhead outside. I half expected them to send down a bucket.

I’ve only ever gotten takeaway food from here. The roast duck, roast pork and bbq pork are top notch! I also like their noodles and braised veggies with garlic and chilli. The staff are also super friendly! Which I was so happy about that I couldn’t stop talking about it! Yes five stars for both food and service!

The food has been consistently good over the years. It is hard for me to move past the duck here! And the sizzling tofu is really tasty. The service is fast & we didn’t wait ages for the food.

I have always like the food served in this place, which IMHO is somewhat dwarfed by Dragon Palace, a restaurant next to it. Price is quite reasonable considering the location and they get really packed! Even for a normally quiet Monday, we were(politely) asked to leave just as soon as they cleared the table! Anyhow, you can get pretty much most of the famous Asian(Chinese) dishes here.

I want to eat here everyday if I have the money and the patient to hear people talking loud, and waiter screaming in Chinese language. I love the food here and trying very hard to be here at least one time every month. It is pricy but it is truly something you want to put in your mouth. I love the duck but I don’t know why I don’t like the violin duck. I prefer the other duck. Don’t order the Donald Duck, it is a waste of time and an unfunny joke from me.

It’s very hard to find a Cantonese restaurant that does everything well. This is one rare find. Stir fries, roasted meats, soups, seafood all cooked beautifully. Have never had even an average meal here. Be warned, this place is very popular & a little noisy.

Peking Duck!!! Walking around Northbridge, we were unsure where to go but knew we wanted Duck. Some places had huge queues and we prefer not to wait. Hong Kong BBQ was still very busy with only 3 tables empty. We had been here 12 months ago so knew you have to order the Peking Duck 24hrs in advance. Still, what harm can it do by going in, putting on a big smile and asking politely whether they can do Peking duck for the 2 of us. Success!!! Their Peking duck is fantastic. So flavoursome and plenty of it when there are only the 2 of us eating it. They serve up the first one, and you are left to do the rest so you can eat at your own pace. When ordering the duck, you get to select how the remainder of the duck will be served. We chose San Choy Bau. Once again, full of flavour with crisp fresh lettuce. For the cider connoisseurs, they serve Rekorderlig Cider. A must place to visit for their various duck meals.

Hong Kong BBQ is definitely THE place to go in Northbridge if you want to have a good roast pork/duck, BBQ pork meal! My personal favourite dish is definitely the Roast duck — crispy glossy skin with juicy and tender duck meat — probably not the most healthy thing but hey, if you are going to splurge, this is definitely it!

The BBQ pork and crispy roast duck here is insanely tasty. Crispy, glossy skinned duck and sweetly braised, lightly charcoaled BBQ pork. So so good(check the photo evidence if you don’t believe me). This is legit Chinese cuisine aka; Asian to Western diner ratio is 4:1 and you can find obscure things on the menu. Do jellyfish, pigs trotters and shark fin soup alarm you? It’s a family run business so service and food are consistently on the drill. The clean décor is a notch up from the standard across Northbridge Asian. It’s good for group bookings and there’s enough white linen tablecloth for a a birthday celebration. The restaurant is still casual enough for last minute grab in, also. I saw a few different cops pop in for their pre-Northbirdge patrol feed. These boys clearly know their ‘bridge eats and have made this one their choice. Its a no-brainer why. Seriously tasty, authentic Chinese. Bonus points** they make their own chilli oil. Yup. No shortcuts. These guys are strictly business.
