After a night in northbridge there is only billy lees to come to. With some of the owners coming from my favourite beloved restaurant Singapore kitchen the food is tasty fresh and addictive. I love the silken Japanese tofu and honey pepper chicken. Also the front of house manager xin is a master in customer service and has always been hospitable despite being in some of my most drunken states.

I love Billy Lees. I’ve been coming here for many, many years and have ended many, many drunken nights here for necessary sustenance. The place is not fancy in any way, shape or form but the food is delicious. I recommend the duck with pickled vegetables, fried rice, salt and pepper squid and Shanghai dumplings. Fantastic, reliable Chinese food!

I used to come here heaps as a young man and it’s not changed much since. Pretty standard selection of food on offer but everything has good portions and tastes great. Sitting outside is fine as well, great atmosphere. Open pretty late too so you can visit after a night out. No split billing is a little annoying but otherwise it’s fine.

My group of 12 came here New Years Eve with zero booking and were whisked away to a large table within seconds. Staff were efficient and I must admit — how often can you just rock up somewhere with a group and be seated without any fuss? It is BYO here which is nice and everybody at the table ordered a dish. The food was all tasty and I recommend this place if you are sharing with a group because you get a chance to all enjoy a mix. I ordered the sizzling beef which came out beautiful and I was really happy with. We also had quite a lovely time and the waiter took photos of our group. It is close to the train station and open most hours which makes things easy. The only complaint I had was that the rice came out quite a bit later after all the dishes and by that time we barely touched it because we loaded up on all the dishes. There also was A LOT of rice so it did seem like a bit of a waste…

I tried the squid noodles tonight after an evening out in Northbridge. Firstly, there’s two types(which I didn’t know about). There’s the wet version and the dry version. I’m not sure what the difference is so basically flipped a coin on this and went with the«wet version»(take away). I basically got the squid and vegetables and sauce in a container and fried noodles in a little paper bag. Interesting… When I got home I put the noodles in a bowl, put the sauce on the noodles and nuked it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Seriously, this was a really good late dinner. Something warm and filling and pretty good tasting too. My only complaint about it all was that it cost me $ 14 and only had about 8 bits of squid in it. I’m sure you get better value for money if you were eating in the restaurant so lesson learned for next time. Next time I might give another restaurant a chance only because I seem to gravitate to Billy Lee’s by default.

I wouldl like to say first of all what person doesn’t want to eat a proper meal when they’re drinking so that is a major tick, although sometimes maccas is what one feels like I can safely say that Billy Lee’s hits the spot every single time. I dont know if they have new owners, but the food elements seem a bit different not nessecarily better or worse but just different. Still rate it highly though!

Great place for late night eats. Billy Lee’s is in that cluster of Northbridge Chinatown restaurants that keep Perth’s night owls from starving after a night out. We had the fried intestines, a shrimp dish and a beef dish. Everything is very reasonably priced especially for Perth. The food was all outstanding, especially the intestines. The food arrived in short order and the service was prompt and efficient. I will easily repeat before too long. Stay sexy my friends!

A Northbridge institution. This place is tucked away in Chinatown but very popular and open later than probably any other restaurant around. BYO and the food is reasonably priced. Massive menu, though virtually no vegetarian options for our friends! The deep-fried pumpkin is a highlight! A perfect way to start a night out.

Chinatown in Northbridge gets such a bad rep in Perth for some reason. I really do not know why. Billy Lees is a Cantonese restaurant down off Nicks Lane in Chinatown. If you need to find somewhere to eat in the middle of the night on a weekend, as it is open til around 4am on Friday and Saturday nights. Billy Lee’s is not fancy, with cheap furniture and plastic tablecloths. The food is made fresh to order and is very cheap for the portions sizes. The menu is extensive, with a huge variety of catonese and a few singaporean dishes added. Last time I was there I had the chilli pepper squid and the seafood fried ho fun. Both were fresh and delicious. The staff do not speak english well, but use the menu and gestures will get the job done.

When you’re leaving a bar in Northbridge and feeling kind of hungry but all the restaurants appear to be closed, you can always count on Billy Lee’s in Chinatown to be open. I’ve been coming here for after-party munchies for as long as I can remember. The service is fast, the quality of the Cantonese very good, the atmosphere laidback, and the price per dish very, very friendly. Entrees start at $ 6 and Mains at $ 9.50. Try their Sang Choy Bow to start, with its tangy filling of minced chicken on lettuce and a bed of fried glass noodles practically a meal in itself. You’re likely to be sharing at the aforementioned godforsaken hour, though, so order a couple of mains, too: I’d recommend the Seafood Fried Ho Fun, and everybody’s favourite — Chilli Pepper Squid. Mmmmmm. I can eat this stuff like popcorn! Billy Lee’s is very fair with its corkage per person; only $ 1 each. So long as the food continues to be fresh here, I’ll keep coming. Might even drop in before a night out on the town some time…
