History

Established in 1987.

Items was established by a local interior designer and has grown with the community throughout the years to include quality home décor and bold ideas as well as gifts for any special occasion.

There has only been a handful of owners carrying on the great legacy of Items with the most recent management bringing a refreshing change of great music, vibes and products.

The current goal is to provide customers with designs from all over the world for a bit of flare and fun mixed with classic tastes.

With over 20 years of retail experience between them Carolyn and Jessica have the energy and desire to provide the ultimate experience to the customers of Items. «It is all down to the details,» says Carolyn. From the creative design and effort put into the window displays to gift wrap service available Carolyn and Jessica always provide a smile and assistance to anyone walking into the store.

Items is a large home wares & gift store across the road from the rosemount. The space is huge and they have so many beautiful things packed in.
Perfect for gifts for everyone, especially mums! They have both classic and modern items from vases, to pyjamas, gift cards & scarves.
Everything is very reasonably priced and the staff are just beautiful!
I would Definitely recommend checking this place out for gifts for loved ones or even to treat yourself.
I am currently eyeing off a small leather purse that actually contains a portable phone charger inside. So cool!

Items on Fitzgerald is surprisingly bigger and more elaborate than their store in South Perth, from the outside you’d never expect it but this store has a massive surface. As you walk into the store the first area has shelves filled with coloured glass vases and ornaments all a little too kitsch for my liking, but everything from here on is colour coordinated. Usually I really like this in a clothing store or somewhere you may actually need it but in a gift and homewares store unfortunately it just doesn’t work.
The store feels a little disjointed and separate because of this but when you get past the one colour filled section there are a few very interesting and cute pieces. They also have a great range of toys for children and clever and handy travel organisers and probably my favourite thing in here are their lovely fashion and funny books. Items don’t have the most modern or quirky gifts that I would buy but they do have a range of items perfect for gifting.

Items is a huge gift and homewares store on Fitzgerald St in North Perth. They also have a sister store in South Perth. It used to be full of hip and quirky gifts and homewares. These days it is more boring and uncool gifts, jewellery and homewares. They do have the occasional piece that may interest someone under the age of 50. But generally it is more like the place you would shop for your parents or grandparents then for yourself.

Items is as iconic a store on Fitzgerald Street, North Perth, as the Rosemount is a pub diagonally across the way. I remember shopping here in the early Nineties for the coolest of homewares: all «rustic and ethnic» as they used to say on ‘Absolutely Fabulous’. But things have turned decidedly naff with their latter-​day stock. There are way too many figurines that greet you on entry, and too many autumnal odes to Paris (fat pillows, printed clocks, coin purses, paper weights) that seem unwarranted in predominantly sunny Perth.
It seems this store has aimed to keep up with the ageing of its original clientele, but neglected to realise that whilst some of us have gotten older, we haven’t lost our love for cool postmodern design in our homewares. I was hoping to see some great contemporary pieces but the most appropriate items I might buy for myself here are some Moroccan-​style glassware. Still, many of the products serve as great gifts for your mother or grandmother.
My suggestion to this store would be to move ye olde shoppe stuff out to the back (the shop is pretty much divided into two sections anyway), and fill the front up with some really useful and attractive postmod pieces akin to the stuff you’d find in Venn.
The counter staff are always helpful, though, and do a dandy good job in giftwrapping those gifts for Ma and Grandma.
