The Banque

The Banque is technically owned by The Oxford Hotel but as it is a completely separate building, it can make for a great venue space and is deserving of its own individual review. You book The Banque through the Oxford staff and they either hire in extra waiting and bar staff for your function or use additional staff from their bar. The Banque is also only opened for functions and is not available to the public at any other time.
I have been to many a college function hosted at The Banque and it also makes a great place for 21^st and big dinner functions. There is quite a large floor space and it can be filled with tables for a sit down meal, or left blank for a reasonably spacious dance floor. There is also an allocated space for a DJ or a band and doubles well as a speech podium.
I believe this is an upstairs section as well, which I have never been too but that could only be available to those who promise over a certain amount of people. You can also hire security from the Ox for a minimum of 4 hours to keep control of the situation and guest list if you require. They can also supply nibble platters if you were after finger food, but again remember as with most event spaces it will be outrageously overprices so think long and hard about whether you need mini spring rolls and wedges or if you should just ask people to eat before they arrive.
