Service here is great, but their gnocchi was mushy and coffee was poor. That was my experience, the people I was with enjoyed their meal, so it might have just been a bad night for gnocchi but I’m not inclined to eat here again.

Awesome North Adelaide Italian joint. Great food, attentive, friendly service, not too expensive. Doesn’t get much better than that.

I popped in for lunch last week whilst I was working. Unfortunately I was greeted by an elder lady who clearly was having a bad day and didn’t want to smile. I felt like an inconvenience to her to the point that I wondered if I should leave. I was really disappointed in her customer service.

Poorly thought seating and lighting but most of the food is well made with great flavour and large portions.

Plain, Predictable and Boring. That just about sums it up, you probably won’t get a bad meal here but on the other hand you won’t get something amazing or exciting that you’ll be desperate to tell your friends about. I dropped in for breakfast and just went with the big breakfast. it was ok, so was the coffee nothing to rave about though. This is just me but I like to try new things and to look at a menu and struggle to pick what I want because theres so many interesting options. Scuzzi is not the sort of place I’d go out of my way to go to but more the place you end up when the place you want to go to is closed or full, it’s a safety net.

Was out with a group of friends to see a movie. After we all needed a feed and someone picked Scuzzi. I haven’t eaten there for many years, and it hasn’t changed. One of that standard ‘Italian Café’ style places you get everywhere. For ease, we shared a few pizzas. They arrived, without a great crispy crust(eww) and soggy toppings. Unless it’s a group decision again, no I’ll not be back

We rung up menu-less(and perhaps a little clueless) on a Friday night to order pizza. The server took time, of which she was in short supply, to go through their menu while our crew deliberated on this end of the phone. So annoying! But if she was annoyed she didn’t show it. Our takeaway pizza from Scuzzi was top notch and this review is specific to this experience. The first pizza was BBQ Chicken, with: pineapple, strips of sweet white onion, chicken and barbeque sauce. Not sure what the second was called(…no menu) but on top was: chorizo, pumpkin and rocket. Simple pizzas with hardly that much cheese, but lots of chunky toppings and a nice balance of flavours. The bases had a chewy homemade taste to them. It would be difficult not to like these pizzas and we had a good debate whether Scuzzi’s or Pellegrini Café makes a better pizzapie. I agree with a review from Chloe L. that North Adelaide has some bad Italian restaurants. I haven’t eaten in yet, but now I’ve got the confidence to give Scuzzi a go. For the coupon clippers out there, this badboy is in the entertainment book.

You know those restaurants you walk up to, you peer through the window and think to yourself«This place looks great»? Scuzzi is that kind of place… You know when you take that first step into some restaurants and the aroma from the kitchen causes you to uncontrollably salivate? Scuzzi is that kind of place… You know when you leave some restaurants feeling more than satisfied with the food, service and atmosphere? Scuzzi is definitely that kind of place… A small family owned café style rustic Italian restaurant in the heart of North Adelaide’s bustling O’Connell Street, Scuzzi is most certainly somewhere everybody should eat. A vast selection of international and local wines coupled with their fantastic range of food options makes for the perfect night out. Their dishes range from Italian classics, to staple Australian restaurant meals, to some very unique dishes I am yet to encounter elsewhere. And the best part is they are all delicious. The service staff are fantastic, friendly, efficient, and boy do they know how to whip together a good coffee. Family-friendly, delicious, warm, and welcoming. Scuzzi is the place to be in North Adelaide, attracting some of South Australia’s top celebrities and political heavy weights. Definitely try the veal fungi.

Scuzzi is alright, but there are much better places to eat on O’Connell now without having to resort to plain pizza and a mediocre atmosphere. I’ve had breakfast here once too and it was ok but nothing special. It’s not that cheap for what you get and they make it seem like a restaurant but it’s more like a café. The décor is quite nice, with tables in and out and the staff are ok, although you really don’t have to interact with them a whole lot. Perhaps ok for lunch or brunch, but wouldn’t waste my money for tea when so many other options are in walking distance.

Scuzzi by name ‘scuzzy’ by nature alright. Granted, the food here used to be quite nice at one point, but it’s gone downhill big time now. The flavours, the quality, even the serving sizes, are second-rate at best. On top of that you’re paying expensive prices for what is essentially a plate of crap, and not even one that’ll fill you up(that would be a small mercy). In a nutshell — don’t do it to your taste-buds!

Not to be confused with Scoozi on Rundle Street, or the derogatory term ‘scuzzy,’ Scuzzi is an Italian Café on O’Connell Street, with a pleasantly random mix of patrons. At any given time the place is hosting labourers, large families, and the wealthy blue rinse set chowing down on Angus Beef and Squealing Pig sauvignon blanc. Scuzzi has a number of low comfy bucket chairs but when you’re trying to eat in them you feel a bit like a clumsy kid struggling to reach the table with your elbows out. Scuzzi décor is very dark with black seats and a cool zebra striped espresso machine. I asked the bartender why there was a glass case shaped like a UFO filled with corks, and he claimed it was for aesthetics only. I have my doubts and suspect there may be ancient treasures buried within the corks that Scuzzi are hiding until the value has doubled. I had a chicken salad and though it was good I thought it a bit overpriced for $ 20. I wouldn’t be a Scuzzi regular because the prices are a little high for me, but the ambience and service are great and I can see why this is a fave for so many of the locals. Scuzzi on.
