How does this place stay in business making such terrible pizza. I bought it for the kids and even they didn’t like it

This is the best pizza place. They do pizza only, no pasta The vegan pizza is very tasty, feel light in your tummy. The setting is very cosy and private. Staff are friendly They come good one size only. The kitchen is clean There is nothing negative about the place or the food

Tried Vespa for the first time tonight, we got a delivery. New Farm has a few chain pizza shops and it was definitely good to mix it up. I thought the pizza was good, I wasn’t blown away, my partner thought it was pretty great. We put some specific order requests in the comments field when we ordered online and those didn’t get picked up, so it wasn’t exactly what we ordered, but the guy who delivered it was friendly and it was piping hot when we got it, so we didn’t bother calling to complain. All in all a good solid pizza place for people who are looking for more than the chains have to offer.

The pizza here is outstanding and the waitstaff are so nice! We stumbled in half crazed and starving from walking around the whole evening and were grateful they accepted us amidst the closing/cleaning going on. The crust is extremely thin(almost crackery) don’t expect anything too doughy. The toppings are plentiful and fresh. And everything comes to your table so hot, that you better take care not to burn the roof of your mouth. The pizza will feed one average american with a healthy appetite. I don’t know what that translates to Australian appetites though.

Ahh Vespa pizzas! While your food is absolutely lovely, the times given by your shop staff are incorrect! When the person at the counter finally acknowledges you just remember if they tell you its a 15 minute wait for takeway then expect to wait twice that time. If the service staff could be more accurate with their timings I would be more than happy to bump this rating up to a much better 4 stars. :)

I am German born, US raised and have eaten Pizza world wide including Chicago, NYC and Italy. This is my favorite pizza in the world. Could I get a Mango Chichen with yoghurt sauce to Fort Lauderdale please? Soooo good, and the service was always nice as well. It was my favorite to go out living in New Farm. I

If you don’t feel like pizza, don’t go to Vespa. Here’s what’s on their menu: pizza. Lots of pizza. Even the entrées and desserts are calzone-heavy, and calzones are basically just pizzas folded in half, right? Okay, so there are a couple of menu items that aren’t dough-heavy. There are… three salads. There are kipfler potatoes and polenta pieces and olives on one end, and tiramisu and chocolate cake and ice cream on the other end, but the rest? The rest is all pizza. And we’re not complaining. Vespa’s menu has hardly changed in years, but that’s because it doesn’t need to change. Why mess with perfection? The flavours in the pizzas at Vespa are out of this world. My Vespa visits lapsed over the past couple of years, and when I finally returned last night, I regretted the length of my absence. Why would I forsake you, Vespa? I didn’t, actually. I just got lazy and forgetful. You are the king of Brisbane pizzas. The garlic & cheese pizza bread starter is a morish way to begin your evening, but be warned — it is literally the size of a standard pizza. You are ordering a garlic & cheese pizza. It tastes like heaven and there is so much of it. You need to leave some space to sample some of the killer toppings — like the sesame chicken with mango chutney and yoghurt, the streaky bacon with red currant and camembert, or the cinnamon roast butternut pumpkin with chilli, sage and fetta. Oh, and leave room for dessert, because the nutella and marshmallow calzone will blow your mind. Vespa’s getting my five stars for a number of reasons: 1. My two friends and I showed up without a booking, and while one of the cosy booths inside was reserved, the reservation wasn’t until 8pm and we had to be out of there by 7:25pm for a show at the Powerhouse. The Vespa crew were totally happy to have us at the booth. 2. As I said above, we had to be out of there at 7:25pm. We made the mistake of not looking at our watches until after we’d ordered. We mentioned our end time and cancelled the dessert part of our order, and without the slightest hint of annoyance or frustration, our pizzas rocked up within minutes. 3. We ordered the pizza bread starter and one pizza to share between the three of us.(Having not been in years, we’d forgotten the size of the pizza bread.) We couldn’t decide on just one topping so we ordered a half/half. When the pizzas came out, we ended up with a full pizza of each. More panic! Again with nothing but a smile, the Vespa guy told us not to worry, that he’d only charge us for one pizza and that we should just tuck into both of them. Joy! And also panic, because we went from having a starter and one pizza to share — to essentially having a whole pizza each. 4. We couldn’t get through the pizzas. We did our darndest but were left with enough pieces to make up a whole pizza still at 7:25pm. We paid… and the lovely man bundled up our leftovers into a takeaway box. 5.(Because five stars.) Service, flavour, setting. Those five stars are all gold. LENGTHYREASONS, BUTTOTALLYWORTHEXPLAINING. We’ll be heading back to Vespa again really soon because the the fact that I had the idea of a dessert calzone waved in my face, only to be snatched away again, was too heartbreaking. Unbreak my heart, Vespa. See you again soon.

Vespa Pizza is very near and dear to my heart(and stomach) because in my opinion, they do the best God darn pizzas in this city! In fact, I have a couple of girlfriends who live in Melbourne, and whenever they come to visit, our friendship group get together for a PWPC night(pizza, wine and polenta chips) and we never settle for anything other than Vespa. For goodness sake, we created an acronym for it… so it’s gotta be good! There’s the option to dine in or takeaway, but dining in is always fun as there’s plenty of eating space and it caters well for a group. There’s a casual relaxed atmosphere about the place and it’s fun to watch the delivery boys zooming in and out on their Vespas. In terms of food, there’s something for everyone on the menu. And let’s face it… who doesn’t like pizza? There’s also gluten free bases for your coeliac mates. I’m a HUGE fan of spicy food, so when I first discovered the Possible Side Effects pizza(chili paste, hot salami, roast peppers, parmesan and chili) I was ready and rearing to try it. Once the steam had stopped blowing out of my ears, it became my new favourite and I’ve not veered away from it since. Honestly though, you can’t go wrong with whichever pizza you choose. If you’re in the mood for some doughy goodness, and hate being disappointed by a substandard pizza, then head to Vespa where your taste buds will be dancing with joy. It’s that good people!

One of the great things about New Farm are places like this. Vespa Pizza is not just a name. If you live in the area or near it(make sure to ask to see if you’re within their boundary limit) then you can get their delicious pizzas delivered in a vespa, which is a nice Italian touch. This place is not very big and can get pretty full so make sure you make a booking. Sometimes their online booking system might not work(my reservation was lost once) so it’s probably a better idea to call them up. There’s some great variety in their menu so have a good look and see what sounds good. One of their more creative dishes is the nutella calzone. If you love nutella(and really, who doesn’t?) and if you can fit dessert then this is recommended. Just make sure you have a glass of water with you because you’ll need it. Parking can be an issue here. Only street parking is available and if you’re going there for dinner on a Friday night then be prepared to park a couple(or more) streets away. The walk will probably do you good in the end.
