There was a group of 6 of us, so we went for the banquet. Looking at the extensive menu, it represented good vale for money. The atmosphere was warm and spacious and relatively quiet with low level pleasant background music. The dips and falafel were authenticl. Unfortunately, the duck was not crispy and was overlooked for my liking. The Lebanese sausages were delicious and the squid tender and spicy. A raft of small serving yummy desserts completed the meal. There were several other groups at the restaurant which stayed open while we talked out the issues of the day. I would go back again should the opportunity arise.

Samsara was my first experience eating Lebanese style food. The Mediterranean based menu is on the spicy side, which I love, and the dishes on offer range from goat, to chicken or lamb, right through to vegetarian options. I had a lamb fillet which was served with Lebanese potato and vegetables. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect taste wise, but it reminded me of Greek cuisine with a little more spice. The lamb was beautifully tender, it practically melted in my mouth. The prices are quite high, with the mains averaging around the $ 30 – 35 mark. As nice as I thought the meal was I find it hard to rationalize spending so much when I can get a decent curry and rice for under $ 10 near by.
