Café Denada is a bit of a Brentwood institution. Breakfasts are hearty, with the option of a mug of hot coffee if you need a bit more spark in your plugs at the start of the day. I regularly meet here with friends before work at 7.00am and the service is cheery, the eggs are delicious and the food comes relatively quickly to get you on the Cranford Avenue entry to the freeway into the city on time. The lunches are very popular with the local crowd, thanks to the salad display cabinet which is loaded with pre-prepared goodies and freshly made salads every day. It can get noisy here because of the tiled floor and sometimes the loos are a bit whiffy. However, local artists display on the walls, providing talking points while you have a second latte. Next door is a groovy pre-loved clothing boutique to wander in on your way out. It’s a pleasant place to spend an hour or two with a friend… or with a book by yourself in the courtyard! My tip: Denada also does catering. Ordering platters of their beautiful salads to complement a meal that you’ve prepared yourself is a great way to impress your friends… as well as cut down on your time in the kitchen!
