Love the café for pre session snacks with a selection for lunch and dinner. Food comes well presented and staff are very friendly and helpful.

I have always been a fan of Wallis theatres. I like that they support local businesses and they do a lot of charity fundraising. That is something that I like to support. Generally, if there is a big release coming up, I got to the Mount Barker Wallis. I do live in the Adelaide hills, so it is not too far for me. But also, it is not as busy as the other ones. So, if you like to go to the Cinema and not be shoulder to shoulder, you have a good chance of avoiding that here. The seats and facilities are not the most up to date though. Not as comfy as other cinemas, but not a huge deal. It’s only for a couple of hours really. There is a good selection of food & drinks here. But, like most cinemas, it is expensive. Oh, and in the summer ask about the cinema outdoors. They do a Moonlight style cinema on the oval.

Ever since this cinema opened, the people of the Adelaide Hills have had somewhere to realistically enjoy movies. I’m showing my age more than I’d like, but I remember Marion, TTP, the once many but now long gone city cinemas(apart from on Rundle St). I say remember because since the Mt Barker Wallis Cinemas opened, there has been no good reason to attend a film in any of the traditional suburban mall holes. I’m sure it probably isn’t an amazingly better viewing experience than any other large cinema, nor is the huge pop corn and Coke any less of a rip off, but everything else about the place is 100 times better. Firstly, there is a pub just outside and it has windows. and while we’re talking about outside, the lobby of the cinema has windows! You actually can tell what time of day it is. In an age where we increasingly live indoors I find that a little comforting. Parking is a breeze here. Amazing. No driving around for 15 minutes. If the Christmas shopping season has started and you want to see a movie and you live 15 minutes from Marion, you are actually better off driving to Mt Barker. Maths. The staff are a breeze here too. I saw them eject an unruly Russell Crowe fan once and it was one of the most relaxed/satisfying/funny things I’ve ever seen in a cinema. apart from on the screen. If you’re one of the many who’ve been put off seeing films at the cinema, give Mt Barker a go. It’s easier. And they have loads of ways of getting cheaper tickets.

Wallis Mt Barker has such a lovely cinema experience. There are great facilities, up to date technology, and the staff are professional yet friendly. For me the fact that the facilities are always impeccably clean and that the staff are well dressed & always act professionally, keeps the magic of the movies alive. They also do great events regularly, among these the ever popular«Girls Night Out» where you get champagne & Fruit Chocs included in the price of your ticket, and they sometimes have actors dressed up as characters from the movie to entertain you as you enter, which adds to the atmosphere. For me the prescence of the two great managers is very much felt here. My tip, get a coffee before you go in. They do good coffee, and there’s nothing better than a good coffee and drifting off & being entertained for an hour or two. Heaven.

Excellent service, good coffee, & great facilities. I really love going to this cinema, I would choose it over all the others in SA. They keep it looking nice and it’s always kept clean and tidy. They show all the latest movies and the service is always wonderful. They run movie sessions just for kids and girls night out sessions too.

The Wallis Cinemas at Mt Barker are good enough if you want to see a movie and you’re in the hills. Like most Wallis Cinemas they show the big blockbusters and mainstream films. The cinemas are comfy enough, and you can lift up the arm rests if you like(good if you’re like me and don’t like having your feet on the floor during scary movies). There is a self serve candy bar that has lollies & slushies, and of course you can grab popcorn for the film.
