What a great place. I was told by a friend about this place so decided kid free why not make the trip. We got a sit straight away at the back near the drinks. The staff were nice and the food is cheap we got some roti with satay to start off and then our mains were a pork and egg noddle soup and sweet and sour chicken. I love the idea of free drinks and being able to pick our drinks. It was a quirky place. If you want fine dining this isn’t the place. But if you want a nice casual place thid is the place to go. Would recommend again. Good place for a first date. Both mains were only $ 10 and and roti was $ 6 so not bad for a nice lunch.

I love this place. Don’t just arrive expecting to sit down and the eat. It is small and well known, so plenty of people have the same idea. Quirkiest and best fun restaurant I have been to for some time. Food is excellent too, and the boss will help you order if you want it.

What a great little secret. Doesn’t look that good but the food is easily the best in the area. Excellent service with free soft drink and tea. This is followed by free ice cream and icy poles. As a great man once said«do yourself a favour»

I ventured out to the suburbs for a family dinner at this little gem. I love little family restaurants that just work and Proud Peacock definitely works. The food is good value(as tends to be the case in the burbs) and the service is fast. Tables are adorned with sauces, softies and a bowl full of Reeses Peanut Buttercups that I couldn’t quite work out… Don’t look past the tomato rice with grilled chicken mmm!

The Craziness of this little restaurant can be seen from afar. After finding parking in the busy Pinewood shopping plaza, the Proud Peacock often has people waiting outside for a bite of fresh and authentic food. The restaurant isn’t fancy looking, with signs hand written on all sizes of paper, a/c unit above the front entrance and picnic plastic tables on the inside. People don’t seem to care. This place used to be located in Glen Waverley but after hearing a horror story I never went. The move seems to have revitalized the quality and flavour. They do lunch specials and last time I went I was surprised to find a lamington, small tart and blood oranges in my take away bag. I went again yesterday and the place was packed, we decided to sit outside in the cold and wait for a spot. Since it was so busy, we were forgotten outside so I had to go in and order, but honestly I don’t expect 5 star service on a busy saturday lunch hour from 2 serving staff. We ordered: combination pad thai, combination spring rolls(half prawn, half pork), double pork chop with rice and my all time favourite salt and pepper tofu! For a huge meal with a box of leftovers, we spent $ 42 which we thought was very reasonable, the only thing I would change about this place would be for consistent service and better table placement. By the way, you can call up first to order which seems to be the trick as there are very limited spots to sit.
