The food was excellent and an abundance of it, however, I believe I may have been charged more than I should have? No itemised bills. The rice worked out to be expensive compared to other places I have dined at before.

We have lived Nearby for about five years now and heard plenty about this place but for some reason had never been. We have been working late due to Xmas in retail and decided we’d take the night off from cooking and order some take away. The prices are very reasonable and through the website we were even given a 15% discount for first order. The minute we smelt the food i was already sold. The taste and spice was perfect. I had the Calcutta spicy beef dish they do and a friend had the beef madras and they were both up there with the best take away Indian we have had. My only reason to not«five star» this place is the naan and raita were just a touch different and a touch bland. The garlic naan didn’t taste of garlic at all and looked more like your standard Turkish bread toasted. The raita had the cucumber but were diced through the yoghurt in huge chunks which I personally didn’t like that much but the others didn’t mind it. A must try take away if your a southy!

This small little restaurant on the busy South Road sure does pack a flavoursome punch. I went there for the banquet with a large group, and the atmosphere was very nice. They played music videos on the TV which were enjoyable and really made it quite a nice evening. Food was excellent. For $ 27/head, the proportions were more than reasonable and I got extra takeaway containers organised for lunch the next day. Corkage is also $ 6.50. Curries are also served separate from the banquet at a reasonable $ 16.95. The entrée of pappadums was served with onion chutney and rosella sauce. I never knew that pappadums worked so well with rosella however this was quite a nice experience. The pappadums were cooked nicely too, not too oily and very similar to how I make them at home. Spiced chicken and vegetable samosas were also served as an entrée with a yoghurt sauce. These were very tasty and looked like fried chicken, however in a much nicer, tastier and less greasy batter than KFC. There was a good variety of vegetables in the samosa and the balance of flavour was very well done. As for mains, there were four curries served including butter chicken, lemongrass, lamb and beef. There was briyanni and steamed rice served alongside the mains, along with Dahl and yoghurt. All of these mains were tasty, well spiced and seasoned. The curries were spicy but sill nice, there are no vindaloo’s in the banquet however these are available for those who want to clear out the sinuses. This was served with a soft and fluffy nann bread that was excellent at soaking up all the excess liquid of the curries. The curries were a tad watery but if you order extra nann, this can made a very pleasant attribute. For the dessert, a serve of icecream along with a small Gulab Jumun(a donut in a sweet scented sauce). This was a very nice way to round the evening and albeit small, was quite pleasant. Overall, a lovely evening with great food, spices, flavours and ambience. I will return to this small yet cosy restaurant.
