I am not often in this neck of the woods, but found myself looking for a healthier option for dinner. There is not a whole lot of choices around here. It’s mainly pizzas, burgers, chicken shops, and fast foods. So, when I saw an Indian restaurant, I was really happy. It was really busy in the restaurant, so I can see that the neighbourhood really does love something outside of the fast food genre. The menu was good, lot’s of vego options and well priced. We ordered range curries(Butter Chicken, Dhal, Lamb Poleko Bhedar, Prawn Jhingey Maachar Johl) to takeaway and it was prepared within 20 minutes. Fast! All curries had a good base, flavorsome and fresh. You can tell when a sauce has been cooked freshly that day. These were light, full of spice and with a great colour. My favourite would have been the Prawn Jhingey Maachar Johl, the prawns were just so fresh and the creamy sauce worked well. It’s not the best indian I have had, but it’s ok. Great to see that they are so well taken by the locals.

A good Nepalese restaurant, the taste is better than what I tried in Kathmandu…

You might be fooled into thinking this is an Indian restaurant by its name, but here you won’t find Butter Chicken on the menu. It’s actually a Nepalese restaurant but if you, like me, are a fan of Indian food and haven’t tried Nepalese before don’t be intimidated by the different items on the menu. The menu is a good size and can be ordered to eat in at this small bit lovely classic looking restaurant or as takeaway(which, yes! Is the cheaper option per meal). There are a couple of vegetarian options, the mishmash tahkaari being nice and flavoursome as we’re both the other dishes we tried — the bhedar komasu and bahdami kukhura. The flavour of all the sauces were amazing so could easily be eaten with the rice and roti once all the meat was gone. With an average wait time of 20 minutes for takeaway I will definitely be trying some other menu items and recommending them to everyone.
