The Bridge Hotel Cafe Bar

This is one of the better Bayside beer gardens. Great location right on the river by the Bay. Gorgeous. If you can, check this place out and ask for Pip as your server. Fantastic service.

I really like these pubs next to a river, especially when they have an outdoor section that overlooks the place. Such is the case with this pub, though as I discovered, this is only a small part of the pub (it is actually quite large). It is a fairly classy establisment, especially the café part, but then again I am not at all surprised since it is located down in Mordialloc. Also, I do have to mention that it is not the cheapest place for a drink, but then again you do have some pretty decent views from the café-​bar. Also, they took some time to bring my beer out to me, which I also found somewhat annoying, however all in all it wasn’t a bad place, and certainly better than some of the other places I visited in Mordialloc. As I have mentioned, I do quite like the outdoor area next to the river.

We have been there a couple of times and enjoyed the food. On sunny days there is a large terrace and tables by the water are quickly taken. We loved the tapas, in particular soft shell crab (yum!), the ravioli and paella. However the risotto didn’t impress us. Overall it’s a nice place for casual dining out.

The Café Bar at The Bridge Hotel (aka Doyles Bridge Hotel) has a relaxed upmarket feel and a gastro pub menu. The décor is modern and stylish, with two sides over looking the river and one side that opens to a deck, which is a great spot in all but the most extreme of weather conditions. In the evenings if you get the right table there is a view of the sunset.
The tables are far enough apart to have an intimate conversation without getting bumped into as other people pass. Staff are friendly and the service was prompt. Menu is Modern Australia with something for everyone. Great place to relax and catch up with friends.
