Perfect for a cosy pre-​dinner drink, or afternoon sip. A great plan to have a quiet drink, or to gather with some friends for a few cheekies over a game of Uno or Scrabble. It’s warm and inviting, with a great selection, and two of the loveliest barkeeps anywhere. A lovely gem.

I love this local haunt. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and the wine list is impressive. I love the fact that you can order in food from the surrounding restaraunts or if your company is a little boring pick up a board game. Make sure you look carefully at the photo in the ladies room you will have a laugh when you realize!!! This place is always a winner!

Fine wine, sneakily good beer selection and a casual atmosphere makes Strange Loves Bar a good friend of mine.
With 3 areas to seat yourself, I’ve never had any issues finding room to relax here. If with friends I like to sneak upstairs for a comfy seat. In a more intimate situation or when I’m by myself I tend to enjoy front row seats and people watch.
Typical of the area there is no real food served here. If you need some fine dining to go with a fine wine you’ll be handed a book with local restaurants who will deliver to your table. And even bring an eftpos machine if needed.
The staff here had reasonably honest and broad knowledge of wines and beers. The beer selection varies more often than the wine.
For a wine bar there isn’t a huge variety by the glass and some of the bottles are rather overpriced. Considering that there is fair competition within walking distance with other venues offering similar service.
Still a great spot for post dinner drinks or two.

Best thing about it is if you want to get dinner, you can BYO. Love that.

Could not be more impressed with this cosy little wine bar.
Lots of small nooks for small to medium groups, fantastic wine and drinks election and super friendly and knowledgeable service. You can also order take away from nearby places and they will provide plates/​cutlery if needed. Great little outside courtyard for smokers — really a great venue — had a fantastic night!

Awesome wines, awesome people and great atmosphere. A real wine bar in the inner burbs of Melbourne. And the boys behind the bar know their beer and wines!
